Wow, where do I begin? We had bad experience after bad experience with rude, snobby staff. My wife asked for a crib the first evening, and the woman behind the counter literally, rolled her eyes at us, sighed, and said "I think it is downstairs, I guess I will go look". You guess? Seriously? The next day my daughter left her shoes in the pool room and by the time we noticed, the pool room was closed and locked. We had to go ask this same lady at the front desk if she could get them. Again, she acted as if it was a huge inconvenience, and as if she really didn't know what to do about it. She said she would try to find someone with a key and bring to our room. She never did. The pool opened at 7:00AM (I believe) the next morning, and when my daughter went down there around 10:00AM to go look for her shoes herself, there were still there. Right where she left them. That lady made no effort at all to help my daughter get her shoes back.
The second day we didn't leave the room until 2:00PM. The maid came around about 1:00PM to clean our room, so we told her we would be out in an hour and she could come back then. At 2:00PM we went to the pool for a few hours, and when we came back the room was still not cleaned. Not a big deal, but when we left for dinner at 6:00PM we asked them at the front desk to clean our room while we were gone. They said "No Problem". When we got back at 10:30PM, again, the room was still not cleaned.
We were there for a total of 3 days, and we had to get our keys reprogrammed 4 times during our stay. Each evening when we came back to our room, and twice on our third day, our key would not open our room door. We had to go back to the front desk each time and have them reprogram our keys. It is super annoying when you bring your 3 wet, cold kids back from the pool, and your key doesn't work, again.
Our first morning, the front desk called and woke us up at 8:30AM asking us to move our car to the upper lot so they could plow the lower parking lot. I moved our car to the upper lot, which is an annoyingly long walk when it is icy and 5 degrees, and instead of being able to go back to bed, I had to deal with 3 kids who were now awake from the phone ringing and waking them all up. Thanks Sherwood Hills. A few hours later I went out to the car to get another bag, and the now empty lower lot was still not plowed, and there was no plow anywhere to be seen. I am glad they felt the need to call us all and wake us up to move our cars, and then not even plow. Thanks again.
The hotel itself was decently nice, but definitely over priced for the quality. The location makes it almost worth it, but the horrible, rude and just mean service we consistently received just ruined it for us. I will never go back.
