“The Lodge felt like our own...except we had staff to wait on us! Glorious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2010

The Lodge at Red River was everything we expected. Based on the intitial article out of Sunset Magazine, and our research on line, our experience exceeded our expectations. The gathering room with huge fireplace allowed us to totally unwind. The cozy library on the second level allowed us to check email in total privacy. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the staff lighting the in room fireplace nightly was heaven. Supper at The Lodge was much more than we expected. Being foodies we expect a lot, and the bison tenderloin and potato crusted trout didn't disappoint. And the salad...so good, especially with the homemade blue cheese dressing. Can't say enough about the staff, especially the inn keepers who are well educated, great conversationalists, and caring. We look forward to our return when we intend to fly fish the 6 miles of private river. Thanks so much!

“Great place but a little over priced”

This Lodge was beautifully decorated with many lovely antiques. The rooms were quaint and roomy. I think for the price it would have been nice to get a breakfast included. It was a pleasant stay with beautiful surroundings and the buffalo in the field was a nice sight. However, it just seemed too quiet. There was a TV in the rec room which happened to be in the basement. The lights down there did not work, it was a little eerie. I think they should provide maybe coffee or fruit for you to enjoy while sitting in the living area which is a beautiful room but somehow just did not feel comfortable about using it. It was a good experience but probably would not stay again.

“Manager needs a vacation!”

Lovely & well maintained lodge in a beautiful red rock setting in the bend of the Fremont River. I'm not sure I would call the rooms "luxury," but they are very nice. Best thing was breakfast looking out on the bison. Some of the staff were rather cool, but some were quite friendly. Manager seems really stressed. I think it's a bit overpriced for today's market.

“Simply superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

Great views, great staff, great food. The lodge is more expensive than some of the other options nearby, but it's worth every penny. When the staff gets the fire going in your room and turns on the Native American music, it's the best place to be in the winter.

“Rustic and overpriced for area”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 June 2010

Consider that at $160/night one can stay at the 5-star Palazzo suites resort in Vegas or the 5-star Grand America resort in Salt Lake, but more importantly that Torrey Schoolhouse was $110 with breakfast included the same night we stayed here. During the weekend, the owners require a 2-night stay or pay 25% more. There is a wonderful breakfast that is not included but would add value at this expensive lodging.

PROS:
1. Friendly innkeeper who is a student at BYU
2. Fresh eggs at breakfast
3. Views of red rock from room
4. Bison
5. Bath products
6. Bed

CONS:
1. THIN walls - do not come here for your honeymoon
2. Would be really noisy if there were children - there is not one quiet or private room in the lodge
3. Outside is really not private - people walk around out back behind rooms and look into rooms
4. Expensive - not a good value
5. Inflexible check-in and cancellation policies
6. No robes
7. Rooms were extremely small
8. Patio was grass patio - not concrete
9. No coffee maker in room
10. Bathroom is tiny
11. Distance to park compared to other options - choose Torrey Schoolhouse
12. Nothing around the ranch
13. Value - I generally felt nickle and dimed by this place. I wanted to cancel when I learned about Torrey Schoolhouse B&B, but I would have lost my money
