“Switch off and relax.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

Lovely scenic location a short drive out of the town. Lovely room, very clean and immaculately presented. Gorgeous smellies in the bathroom. Ground floor garden was good to sit out in. Hot tub has fabulous views. Food menu tried one evening, good but limited for two nights. Reception were unable to provide info re horseriding in the area so did this elsewhere. The hotel is really interesting in that it is quite new but designed with the old theme - it works. Hotel has minimum two nights stay - if given choice would have stayed one night and moved on as it would have suited our itinerary - however, we certainly left the Ranch totally relaxed. The piano provided entertainment for guests on one evening - I would recommend this place for early nights and early mornings.

“A Beautiful Lodge in A Beautiful Setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

WOW! We loved this lodge and hope to return someday. Tucked in front of red bluffs with an authentic western feel, the lodge is upscale with all the modern conveniences. We enjoyed every moment of our time... In the early morning sunlight and in late afternoon, we watched the buffalo, horses, and deer roam the grounds. Evenings in front of the 2 story, stacked stone fireplace in the main room or our private in-room fireplace. The staff was personable and anticipated our needs without being intrusive. TIP Be sure to enjoy breakfasts at the lodge. Their omelets and pancakes are particularly delicious!

Room Tip: For off-season visits, I would choose a room on the ground level to take full advantage of lounging...

“Great Family Owned Property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

We stayed three nights. The Lodge is run by a sister and brother whose father built the lodge. It has a classic exposed timber, two story main room, dining room and abut 15 uniquely shaped and decorated rooms. Our room was the Wildflower, a two room suite on the third floor with a view of the red rocks at sunrise. No TV adds to the peace and quiet, though there was always someone glued to their PC in main room, since there is free wireless. There was dinner the first night, since there was a full house, but not the others. Both the service and the food was a bit uneven, but I think that is because they don't do it often. There is a small assortment of restaurants within a few miles. Breakfast was good every morning. Charlene was a great hostess - working the front desk, dining room for breakfast and dinner and building the fire in the main room (though setting off the smoke alarm in the process).

Room Tip: We liked our room on the third floor which is likely the best choice since the lodge is not quiet du...

“Great place in the middle of a beautiful land”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

A very beautiful place in a valley close to a wonderful Capitol Reef National Park. Genuine hospitality, great taste (everything wooden and well built),nice rooms (not large), minimalistic but convenient bathrooms. No TV and phones, which is plus in my books. Has good AT&T reception (rarity across the country) and wireless internet for those needed connectivity.

Food is reasonable in the lodge although not cheap. Breakfast daily, dinners are served few times a week. A few good restaurants around, which is very impressive for such a remote area with not that many tourists. A grocery store, gas station and Subway is nearby. A good tourist equipment store where you could rent stuff for biking or even organize a personal guided trip.

“Will Return Someday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

We travel the west and stay in a lot of places. The Lodge at Red River Ranch is one of the best. Highly recommend it for the rustic atmosphere, friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Plan to return someday.
