Four members of my family (two women and two small children) spent a night at the Western Inn in Spanish Fork, UT during a long road trip. This was their experience.
THE GOOD: The young girl at the front desk was very sweet to them.
THE BAD: They were given a room, that until that night, had not been used in about a year due to renovations (also kind of creepy in itself... what happened there that kept them from using it for a year? Or do I just watch too many horror movies?). The room is on street level, seems nice enough, but then they realize that the window won't close and there is no chain lock on the door. So, they ask the front office if someone can come fix the window.
THE JUST PLAIN CREEPY: In walks a surly man, with a bad attitude. He messes with it for a second, barely even trying anything and making no improvement at all and then snarls "well, that's as good as it gets!" and then implies that they are over-reacting and being ridiculously cautious about their safety and stalks off. One of the ladies asks if he can do this & that to tighten it up so that no one can slide it open and he snaps at her "NO!". So she asks him to give her the screwdriver so she can try it herself and he completely ignores her & walks away. Leaving two women & two small children in what could potentially be an unsafe room. Oh, the icing on the cake!? If someone HAD broken into their room with the wide open window and no lock on the door... they had no working hotel room phone to call 911.

I then came to this website to write a review and came across another review where a young woman indicated that the male manager was rude, and would enter your room without any notice.
Sorry for the lengthy rant, but I think this is completely unacceptable.
