Decided to post a review as nit many recent reviews for this place Staying lodge for one week. Stayed in standard hotel room with one king one queen. Apparently time share so unsure about consistency between rooms. Our room had mini fridge, second sink outside bathroom, lots of drawers hooks hanging space, large flat screen TV blue ray DVD. Large balcony but no furniture but I simply moved desk chair to sit outside for a bit. Spectaular view of mountain. Able to check in early before noon. First room had 2 queens on 2nd floor. Went back to ask for king and easily moved to 5th floor with even better view. Housekeeping excellent room well stocked with towels, clean, cookies, mints, etc. Rooms a little dated but apparently so are other rooms in other Snowbird lodges. Carpet in room appears relatively new. The lodge is much smaller than the cliff and has a more intimate vibe. Front desk very helpful. Valet even took hubby to alta in mornings. Other option is city bus which is free and apparently comes by every 10 min and convenient I'm told. He would just ski back end of day thru alta-snowbird connection. Free coffee tea hot chocolate newspapers in lobby (though would have preferred coffee maker in room). Lifts not crowded at all but likely due to low snow falls this year like everywhere else. Small but adequate workout area: 2 bikes, elliptical, treadmill, universal. No free weights. But a better deal than over at cliff lodge where even those guests have to pay $25/day to use workout facilities which is part of new spa. I toured new spa very nice but didn't get any services due to pricing.
One restaurant in Lodge building itself and only continentl breakfast offered in the AM. Central location for short outside walk to other buildings, restaurants, tram, lifts via Snowbird center. I believe they still consider this ski in ski out even though you have to walk across pathway to snowbird center. They have free ski lockers on ground floor of hotel but we chose to use free ski valet at snowbird center and would only have to walk over in ski boots without lugging skis poles back and forth every day.
Oddly enough you have to walk across chickadee slope to get to the Cliff lodge but since it's a beginner slope not too treacherous. Apparently you can call for free snowbird shuttle to take you from building to building but we just chose to walk because not more than 5 minutes either direction.
New Aerie restaurant excellent food, great dinner service, wonderful views. Great sushi bar as well. Big breakfast buffet.
No room service available at Lodge itself. If they had a toaster and coffee maker would have been nice. General Gritts is small grocery type store with deli etc.
Overall certainly not the fanciest hotel I've stayed out but you are paying for location and room was more than adequate and very clean.
