great location across from snowbird.rooms are mostly timeshares and vary greatly from one to another.ski lockers full spa and pool included.some units have incredible views of snowbird. one things for sure you cant beat the ski experience. discount lift tickets on 5 day pass

My wife, son and I spent a week in August at the Iron Blosam while vacationing in Snowbird. No complaints. Clean, comfortable and big room. We stayed on the 9th floor facing the ski area, so the views were fantasic. I read a review before our trip. The person complained that the grey concrete walls made the place look dim and dark. Not true at all. In fact, all of the lodges in Snowbird have the same walls. I'd prefer to be safe during an avalanche than have fancy painted walls. My wife forgot a few clothing items hanging in the closet. She called a few days later and the staff found the items and sent them to us free of charge. Now that is very cool! We'd stay there again.

The Iron Blossom is a serious hike from any lifts. It's major feature features are paper thin walls and an indifferent staff. If it were priced as budget hotel, this place would be decent. However here you pay full price for a step above roach motel.

I go to Snowbird every year (or at least try to), and stay at the Iron Blossom. We have an studio there during week 8 and find it at about 3.5 stars.
The Iron Blosom:
-comfortable and can sustain you on the trip. If you go for the larger bedroom suites or loft spaces, bump it up to 4.5 stars! Those units are amazing. Kitchen, bedding and living space all very nice and working. Bathroom clean. Staff are amazing considering how most are so young. Spa are includes outdoor heated pool, hot tube, sauna, and fitness center. All clean and very comfortable. Outdoor pool is great after skiing with beautiful views of all the trails you just skied.
- Food: take advantage of theme nights - especially Mussels on Sunday night at The Lodge. Huge deals and great eats. All locals have some dining but we stay away from Cliff Lodge as it is $$$$. You wont get board if you want to eat every meal out, but we usually cook about 60% of our meals.
- The 'Bird. Hands down, best place in the US for powder skiing. They had a tee shirt there this year "6 inches, that's so Vail", and it is true. We had over three feet the week we were there and I had my most memorable week of powder skiing there in 2007 - over 10 feet!. OK, you can get an off week and once I did, we had east coast conditions and only skied three days (even went snow shoeing instead one day). But most times, you can bank on great conditions.
- The terrain: they say "steep" and they mean it. This is a challenging hill and the blue runs are like single black diamonds back east. The double blacks can range from on trial to off piste, back country. Follow the signs and unless you are a extreme free skier, stay away from the cliff warnings. Scope out your drops before you venture in. But, the rewards of such amazing terrain are runs like Mach Schnell, Wilber Chutes, Berry Berry Steep, and Baldy! Then for some fun tree work, head west to Tiger Bowl. You wont go wrong with any of this. FInally, you are so close that if you don't board, might as well get a day in at ALTA next door (skiers only place). Great conditions and much older feel, but modern in facility.

Finally, if you are looking to party hard after skiing hard, this isn't it. You get off the slopes, eat, drink, hit the tubs, and then drift off with either a light evening event or affair. There are NO night clubs (Tram club not included but does provide some activity). There are no discos, dance clubs, etc. This is a skiers hill and that is the focus here - ski, smile, sleep and ski again. It is worth it! If you want to party, go to Mammoth or Squaw.
