Driving from Las Vegas back to the Midwest, we stayed in Salina for a driving break. I booked the room with a service that lets you know the hotel name after you commit and pay. My wife and I got there and checked in. We were wary right from the start - the parking lot was full of junk, and there were two garbage cans full of garbage (Pizza, meat, bread) uncovered right at the office entrance. In the room, there were bare bulbs, the beds were worn out, and there was a fresh ring in the toilet. I've stayed in some questionable places, but we just left, and found another hotel. It's clear that the owner just doesn't care - there were even bare wires where the light was supposed to be outside the door to the room. This is a trashy place that should be avoided. There are several motels near the Interstate that were clean and acceptable.
