“Think twice...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2007

I was not at all impressed by this hotel. The rooms smelled old and musty, my kids first thought that we had been given a smoking room, but it was just a musty, closed-up smell in the room, but it was not pleasant at all. The hotel is situated right off a state highway and the big trucks driving the road made it unpleasant while we were at the pool in the evening. Luckily our room was located on the backside of the hotel, so I did not hear the road noise during the night. However, during the night I had to endure a mattress that felt like sleeping on a plywood board. Unfortunately, my husband & I both did not have a restful nights stay. The shower wasn't the best either. The water pressure was not strong enough to relieve the sore muscles caused by the hard mattress. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This is one of the few convienent stops on I-70 in Utah, but next time I'll avoid this hotel and try somewhere else!

“Very Clean and Comfortable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2007

We decided to stop here on our way back home, and I was wonderfully surprised. The room was really nice. The carpet was clean and new, and the entire room felt like home. They had laundry facilities (which we desperately needed), as well as a pool, and a continental breakfast. I would easily recommend this place to anyone.

“My Halfway Point between California and Colorado”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2007

Since this is about the "halfway" point between Sacramento, CA and Colorado Springs, CO, this motel is a convenient place to split a two-day drive in half without getting too tired of driving. I've stayed here many times.

It's an average motel - never had any problems but nothing particularly outstanding. The town is small, but Subway is a short walk (right next door) for a quick sandwich. The people have always been friendly and room always clean.

“Frosty Reception”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2006

We used the motel for a 1 night stopover during an 18 day trip during September 2006. The receptionist needs to attend a customer care course, she is probably in the wrong job dealing with the public, she was very frosty upon arrival and when our TV reception went off my husband went to the recption to find out what the problem was she was very disinterested and said hers had gone off too, she made no effort to call an engineer or handyman. The motel is on the very edge of the town with 3 eating establishments close enough to walk to. We chose the mexican which was just about OK. There are no bars or anything to go and have a drink after dinner. The motel is on the edge of the highway and we were woken about 6.00am by the horn of passing lorry. The wiring for the lights in our room seemed a little strange, the bedside light would not work until the outside door light was switched on. On the plus side the views from the motel (when there was no passing traffic) were beautiful and the rooms were clean and spacious.

“Terrible Stay!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2006

We stayed one night at the Best Western Shaheen's Motel on June 5th. It was by far the worst Best Western we have ever stayed in! The desk staff was not very helpful or friendly. It was right next to the road, which was noisy at night. It was a very small, cramped room, barely big enough for our family of 4. There was not enough outlets...clock radio was plugged on the opposite wall from the bedside table and one of the lamps did not have an outlet. The bathroom was also worn and small. It needed a new paint job and moulding. The small, outdoor pool was cloudy and not useable. There was no refrigerator. The housekeeping, however, was good as the room was very neat and clean. We ate dinner at the attached restaurant, which was awful! The portions were small and over priced. My son ordered spagetti, and the sauce was watery. The chicken was burnt. This is supposed to be a 3 star motel, but it certainly only deserves a 2 star rating. We would not stay at this motel again.
