This is one of the nicest Super 8 motels we stayed in during our 20-day motorcycle trip. When we arrived, our reserved room was not ready. We were immediately upgraded to a king room at no extra charge. The room was large, clean, and adequately appointed
Our little dog really liked this hotel. The grounds were well thought out with two dog areas (with nice grass and bag and garbage facilities) and an area to wash your motorcycle. The swimming pool was centrally located, but it was too cool and windy for us to use it.
The only thing that spoiled our stay at this motel was the breakfast. The motel advertises an upgraded Super Start breakfast. I arrived at the breakfast area shortly after 7 AM to get our morning coffee. One coffee pot was empty and I drained the last bit out of the other. When I tried to inform the person at the front desk of the situation, she was too busy talking to a member of the cleaning staff about “seeing her at the mall” to take much notice. In fact, she was upset when I interrupted her conversation to inform her about the coffee. When we arrived, for breakfast, shortly after 8 AM, the cupboard was bare. The waffle batter was empty, gone too were the bagel, muffins, yogurt and almost all of the fruit. We and subsequent patrons, were informed, “…that’s all there is…” by the same person I had encountered earlier. This experience is unacceptable and has never occurred at a Super 8 before. What was particularly galling was the fact that the motel was not full. The saving grace was the Denny’s restaurant across the parking lot.
We can recommend this motel for its good quality rooms, thoughtful layout for motorcycles and dogs, but not for the helpfulness and courtesy of its morning staff or the quality of its breakfast.
