Traveling south on Interstate15 we stopped at the public rest stop and picked up one of those free travel magazines with hotel coupons in it. We notice the Howard Johnson in Saint George coupon, for $39. I called their local number which was listed on the coupon and re-checked the price, taxes and availability and told the clerk that I would be there in about an hour or so to check the room. I did not make a reservation... I wanted to see the room first.
For the price, this hotel is great. The room was clean, the complimentary breakfast adequate, the clerk helpful and friendly. The surroundings quiet, yet close to everything.
I have since stayed here two more times and would definitely stay again.
The best thing about the hotel is the front desk clerk. He is JUST PLAIN NICE... something that is now-a-days is hard to find.

Stayed one night with a friend and we both loved it. The room was great and so were breakfast and the hot tub! The only thing that freaked us out a bit was this creepy man, a janitor or so, who kept on following us around and peeked into our room pretending to clean the window. We had to draw the curtains. That was weird but other than that, great place!

Spend 1 night (2 rooms) at this HJ and were quite surprised to find both rooms ( 1 handicap as requested) in freshly updated , clean and spacious condition. It must have just been updated as everything looked and smelled brand new. A pleasant accommodation. The only drawback was the breakfast area,which was extremely small,but you were able to take the offered items (great variety) to your room. My suggestion to the manager to install one additional grab bar in the handicap room,was taken seriously and appreciative.
Great place to really get a good night sleep!

We stayed here 2 nights in October. The office staff was kind and efficient. The rooms look to have been recently renovated as well. Our room was in the front on Main street so we slept with the fan on and that blocked out any noise we may have heard. They had a nice heated pool (we didn't use it, but it looked inviting), and we skipped the contenental breakfast for Denney's (recommended, the service and food was good). The room was clean with a mini-fridge and microwave. The only thing that wasn't great was the mattress, it was very springy. I have a tempurpedic at home and am used to feeling no movement. I was up almost everytime my husband rolled over, but I must say, he is rolling more than usual because his leg is in a cast and staying in one place is uncomforable for him. So I will keep my rating at 4 since I don't know if my bad sleep was necessarily due to the mattress. I did sleep better the 2nd night, but I was pretty exhausted too.
