I'm kind of mixed on this place. We called several hours in advanced to reserve a room, and they were nice about the price. On here it said $50 but when we called they said $60, when we told them we saw it online for $50 they gave us that price which is nice.
We arrived at around 11pm and I don't know if something had just happened before we showed up, but we did not feel welcome at all walking through those doors. There were a few people in the lobby, and as soon as we walked in everyone just stared at us. 2 people on the couch, one in the little computer area to the right, and then the guy working the front desk. We looked around and no one greeted us or asked if they could help us, all we got were stares, which was kind of weird and made me feel uncomfortable. We walked up and checked in just fine, it was just really weird.
The room was decent enough for the price we were paying. A nice sturdy, comfortable bed was all I really wanted after driving all day. The room smelled a little weird, the closest thing I can describe it is the place had gotten flooded and then was dried out, that kind of a smell if you know what I mean. The room was clean, the shower was great, very good water pressure, and I was so thankful that it had air conditioning. The AC didn't work when I tried to turn the fan onto high, so we just kept it on low and it worked well enough.
The funniest part is that in the morning, the same guy who checked us in late that night was up. He was very cheerful and greeted us with a smile, asked how we were doing, etc. Total change from when we checked in! The breakfast was good, they had two different cereals, milk, powdered donuts, bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, and things to put on all of them. The best part was they had a waffle iron and waffle batter so you could make some hot waffles which was by far the best thing! I was not expecting hot waffles in the morning, so that was VERY nice. The juices and cocoa tasted a little weird to me, I think it was the water going into the machines though, I'm guessing they didn't have filters or if they did, then they needed to be changed because all the juices and hot cocoa had a weird after taste.
I probably would have rated it higher if I was welcomed, or greeted when we first walked in. First impressions are big, and I just didn't really feel welcome. I do want to give the guy working the front desk the benefit of the doubt though. If he checked us in at 11pm and then was up before us, he's gotta be working hard and we probably came in when he was at the end of his shift and equally tired as us. Overall I would say it's an ok place to stay, and they offer a good price.
