Due to bad tent placement and too much snow melt We needed to move our sleeping from a camp site to Roosevelt- in the middle of the night and for a cheap price. WE saw Western hills motel- and went in to check on availability and price- 59.95 for 2 adults and a toddler. Seemed fine ok- room key and … we opened the door. Oh my disgusting! We left the light on so the roaches would not come out.. the room was a sweltering 100 degrees at least but the AC had junk in the filter and so we didn’t dare open it- and the windows – I opened one but it made my fingers black- it was sticky and black. The shower was a stand up shower growing a full mold colony- the closet had a Budweiser box in it- we didn’t get near it in case there was not beer but something horrible in it. My toddler found a lime on the floor that had to be days if not weeks old. I wouldn’t let him touch anything – WE wouldn’t lay down on the beds with out putting down a blanket or sweat shirt or something first and kept our heads covered because we where certain there would be bugs. Oh and the clincher- no toilet paper.. a barely any left role was left but no replacement – in hind site- save the 59.95 and sleep in the car!

This place was Absolutely Disgusting! Sleeping in your car would have been cleaner and more comfortable! The room stunk like mildew and was positively filthy! There was food under the bed and pubic hairs in the shower! Find another hotel or city if you would like a clean room!

I woould Not Recommend this hotel to my worst enemy!

On Sunday, September 11, 2005, I arrived at this motel. My first result was rather negative with the upkeep of the facility. After checking in I was informed I would not be able to go into my room until 5:30 p. m. (Mountain time). It so happened that my unit was being renovated. Not only that, there were no other units available. When I finally did go into my room, I noticed the following:

No drapes over the windows. There were Venetian blinds on the north window, but they were concealed by a sheet because they were broken.

The "liners" (for lack of a better term) in the lampshades over the bed were broken, possibly burnt by overexposure to the light bulbs (which could have been over the maximum wattage allowed).

There was no mirror over the sink in the bathroom.

A recessed area, perhaps for the exhaust fan (which was obviously missing!) was exposed.

The only light in the bathroom was a bare bulb.

The heat lamp in the bathroom was uncovered, posing a potential fire hazard.

Near the door outside was a stain on the carpet.

The top grate on the heater was broken.


Why this motel got a two diamond rating from AAA is beyond me.
