First off, I reserved a room about 2 am the same day we would arrive. Due to life happens issues, I called and requested to cancel. The girl was rude, and barely spoke english as is.
I understand that there is a 24 hour cancel policy, but we had not even made that reservation to make it in that limit. Called the main Super 8 number, explained our situation...we were even willing to transfer to another Super 8 on the different route we needed to go. Unfortunatly because this location is a independently owned, there was nothing they could do.
I wish I had not made the reservation as we were more sorry when we arrived. It smelled. Smoking rooms are next to non smoking and you could smell the smoke all down the hall upstairs. Our room smelled dirty. The beds were very horribly old, including the flat pillows. There is a fridge in the room, that was just smelly and disgusting also. When I showered in the morning before leaving, I found dirty washcloths still hung over the shower curtain rod. All the towels were dirty or stained. At check out the guy told us to just leave the card keys on the counters as he was too busy.

This motel is so well situated close to restaurants and fast food outlets. It was good value and the staff courteous and helpful

Decent hotel, clean, and for the price a reasonable place to stay, but NOT truly pet friendly (charge an additional $25 for a pet), so if traveling with a pet (or pets) go to the Budget Host Inn that's in town (only and additional mile or so) where I don't believe they don't charge an added fee.

For the money this hotel was clean and pretty good water flow in the shower - a pet peeve of mine, if it's a trickle.

It has been a week since I got home, and I'm glad that a survey request was sent. I have had time to mellow since my stay at Super 8. I felt that this motel was overpriced for the room quality and amenities provided. Comparably priced motels that we stayed in along our trip (and in previous trips) had much more to offer. First, the gentleman at the counter on check in gave an air of indifference. It's hard, as a customer, to be faced with this type of attitude when you've been driving for 8 hours and are exhausted. I did not feel welcome at Super 8. Next, upon entry to our room, we were greeted by a stale, moldy smell. Right away I was feeling dirty in the room. Also, the bed was itchy, which had me worried about the possibility of bed bugs. My young daughter was uncomfortable as well, and I would not let her walk around on the carpet without her flip flops. The ceiling in the bathroom, above the bathtub had water damage, and was cracked, peeling and drooping. The next morning, I went out into the hall to get some ice, and the hall smelled strongly of feces. I am not kidding, I thought someone squatted and defecated in the hallway. I tread lightly looking for stool as I walked. It was most disgusting, I had to hold my breath!
I will not stay here again, I would not recommend this motel and I just may not stay in Richfield again based on this experience.
