“It's okay... but not on my list of places to go back to”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This is a very old property. No elevator, nothing special but at the same time nothing horribly wrong. It is old but well maintained, it could use a serious facelift to bring some freshness. The bed was hard and I would have expected a top of the line mattress for a property with a star rating that is as high as this one. I travel a lot and this is not nearly as nice as a Hampton Inn. The breakfast is alright, not bad but not outstanding either. It is not as nice as other hotels I have stayed at in the Provo/Orem area. If I hadn't gotten a very good price through Hotwire, I would have been extremely disappointed with the stay there. It is not my first choice by any means, but in an emergency I would stay here again.

Room Tip: stay on the ground floor if you have much luggage.

“Run by people who care about the property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This hotel is clearly an older property, but the people who are managing it now are obviously working to bring it to modern standards. When we arrived, the king room we had booked wasn't available, so they upgraded us to a king "view" room for no additional charge. Nice.

Our room was quite large, which is an advantage of booking an older property. The large window showed a nice view of a greenbelt behind the hotel. The room had been recently painted, the carpet was in good shape, the linens were very nice, and the room had a large, new flat screen TV. The bed was an inner spring mattress-type, which doesn't work for me but which my husband pronounced quite comfy.

The room's light fixtures were all stocked with compact fluorescent bulbs, which in this case wasn't helpful to the room's ambiance. Don't get me wrong - I have compact fluorescents throughout my house and very much appreciate the thought behind using them on property - but these particular bulbs had a very blue color temperature that largely negated the warm decor of the room. It was unfortunate. The room looked much, much nicer the following morning with the lights off and the curtains open. Hopefully the management will do a little research and switch out the bulbs they're using for some that put out a warmer quality of light.

The outdoor pool was closed while we were there. The indoor pool and hot tub pool were open (very generous hours). The hot tub pool was more of a warm tub pool, unfortunately, and I was never able to find the controls to get the jets to work. Again, with it being an older property, the pool was large but not very comfortable.

They offer quite a nice breakfast with your room, which includes waffles, eggs, yogurt and a breakfast meat in addition to the cereals, breads, juice, fruit and coffee one generally sees.

We booked the room for less than $50 through Hotwire, which was an outstanding value for what we got.

Overall, there's room for improvement but they're doing a good job, and we'll definitely be back.

“Second time staying and a bad surprise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We chose to stay at this hotel for the second time because we loved it the first time we stayed in. We loved the room, the hotel, the breakfast, the service and everything for a really fair price. I even already wrote a nice review about my first staying here at TripAdvisor.
However, this second time wasn't very pleasing. The room was great again, and even though we received a room without fridge and microwave, the staff didn't hesitate changing our room when we asked for it. We stayed from December 14th to the 20th (2011), and on the 17th morning I put my brand new Michael Kors watch inside one of my purses' pocket that would be staying at the hotel unused. This particular bag stayed in the same spot until the next day.
On the 18th I wanted to use my watch, so I opened my bag's inside pocket to get it and the watch wasn't there.
It was a really awkward situation but we decided to go to the front office and let them know what happened. We didn't want to accuse anyone, we just wanted to let them know that we were looking for the watch, in the hope someone would return it where they found it. I just told the lady that I had left my watch inside a bag's pocket that it didn't even leave the room and it wasn't there anymore. She barely let me finish what I was saying and called the housekeeper manager and told them that room 131 had lost its watch and ask the housekeepers to look for it. We didn't lose the watch, that was very clear. But they treated like that all time long.
After the housekeeper came in the next day we went to the front office again to find out what they were doing with the matter, and the woman's answer was "we didn't find it in your room". We told her again that we didn't lose it in the room, that it was inside a bag's pocket!
In the next day the lady came to our room to say sorry about the inconvenience, but they were all trying to treat it like we had lost it. I guess they didn't want to admit that their staff were to blame, which unfortunately we have no questions about.
End of story, I didn't get my brand new beautiful $250 rose gold Michael Kors watch back.

Room Tip: Don't be deceived by being in a small town, lock your belongs.

“Very Nice Facility in Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My family enjoyed a one night stay in this very capable Inn. We enjoyed the nice pool and hot tub which are connected to the hallways to the rooms. The breakfast room adjoining the front desk provides a nice space to enjoy a good morning meal. The inn is convenient to restaurants and shopping and other amenities in Provo. This was a our first Best Western experience as a family and it was just fine. There is also a nice sitting area in the hallway if your want to read or browse the internet.

“Nice room.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

The room was good once we found it. The layout of this hotel is a little confusing. The exterior signage directing one to the correct exterior door to your room number is inadequate. The interior signage directing you to the lobby from your room could also use clarification. The lobby and breakfast room are in a separate building from the rooms which means you have to go outside to get to breakfast and there is no covered walkway which could be unpleasant in bad weather. The room itself was good and large. The bathroom was new. The front desk staff seemed to consist entirely of BYU students but they were very friendly, patient and helpful. The exercise room was simple but good. The breakfast room was small but the breakfast, while not a sumptuous buffet was adequate. II would stay here again.
