“The very definition of average.....and nearly entirely unmemorable.”

I'll admit one thing. I don't really remember the National 9 Inn in Price as much as I remember many of the other stops on our road trip.

I remember it being particularly expensive compared to the price I'd looked up but unfortunately for us there was coincidentally a big local event in the town and everywhere was nearly booked up. So it was either stump up an extra $20 or keep driving and we chose the former.

Anyway, the room was basic and generally good although the cleaners had neglected the bathroom somewhat leaving hairs around the place even though it was otherwise very clean.

Breakfast was good for a motel and we did have a very good nights sleep after a long day.

“Friendly staff, but sketchy motel”

I was looking for an inexpensive motel ... next time I'll listen to my wife!
On the upside, the staff were super nice. Both on check-in (which was late at night) and during our two-night stay. Lamentably that was not enough to make up for the rest of the experience!
As we walked to our room, there were a several ne'er-do-wells hanging out in the parking lot. One of them was kind enough to leave an open beer for me on our air conditioner. Thanks!
The room itself was clean, but extremely noisy. As people walked by during the night, it sounded as if they were in our room.
The next day there were again some dodgy guys working on their car in the parking lot. I hate to pre-judge on the basis of appearances, but I got a very unsafe vibe from the place.

Room Tip: Try an upstairs room. Our downstairs room, with door and picture window facing the outside was very...

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

It was just ok...we had a room on the ground floor, next to the stairs, and when people came in late bounding up the stairs, the whole wall (at the head of the bed) shook. Also loud pipes, like a minimum security prison. Could have been cleaner, too, but cheap and a good location.

“Great sleep, good breakfast and a fair price. What else one needs?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We stayed here one night when returning from a Yellowstone tour. The reception building is actually quite nice and big. Also the breakfast is where the reception is. The welcome to the hotel was nice as was the lady behind reception. We got a room at the ground floor and could park our car in front of the room. The room was big and clean. The floor was a little squeaky though and when turning on the fan in the bathroom it seemed the building was going to take off . I had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was above average. The best waffles I have tasted so far this trip. And my favorite, basic oatmeal. I would recommend sleeping here, you have big stores nearby and the price is good.

“Serviceable, clean, quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

Rooms are out of another decade, but are clean and big. Fridge and microwave, and the internet connection was strong even though I had the room farthest away from the front desk. For the price, there was nothing to disapprove of. They'll also take your pet (or you can smuggle your pet in and risk a $50 fine.)
