The Silverado Lodge is the lowest priced property associated with the Canyons Ski Resort. It is within easy walking distance of the lifts without ski gear -- but with gear you'll probably want to take the complimentary van shuttle. We did wonder whether we'd be better off paying more for one of the actual ski-in ski-out properties, or less for something further away if we were going to use a shuttle on day one the ski valet the rest of the days anyways.
As for the room itself, we were in 424 A or B (can't remember which) -- which was a very small but very nice and cozy room with a fireplace, overlooking the pool area (balcony, no view). It was slightly cramped but very homey feeling, with a nice bathroom.
This was our first time in Park City so I can't compare to other places to stay. In terms of overall location, Canyons is about a 5-10 minute drive from Park City proper, but only a 2-3 minute drive from the Whole Foods, WalMart, outlets, and restaurants of Kimball Junction (also super convenient to Breeze Ski Rentals, which is a lot cheaper than renting at the resort). Pretty convenient if you're not focused on the higher-end experience in Park City -- not as convenient if you want to go out at night in Park City or ski in Deer Valley.
Overall, we had a good stay and would consider returning if we were skiing at the Canyons.
