“ResortQuest needs better customer service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

We rented a condo at Ridge Point #107 over the New Year's holiday week. The unit was nice, well appointed and clean. But ResortQuest lacked the ability to provide the touch that makes a nice trip. The gals at the check-in didn't know much -- poor directions to get to the unit, no clue as to how we walk to the slopes (this was a walk to slope through woods, "short walk" unit) and little information about anything to do with condo. We are used to renting nice homes and condos where there is a book about the place providing details about the unit (where is the garage, how often does cleaning service come, how to get to slopes, favorite restaurants...). This unit had nothing and it was frustrating to get any information from ResortQuest. They promised multiple times to have someone drop something off, but there was very little assistance and a lot of frustration on our part. For the price, they could do a much better job.

“House rental”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We stayed 2 weeks in a house on the golf course in Park Meadows. Everything was quite good. The people at check-in were courteous and helpful. We checked in late and everything was in order just as advertised. We have a larger family, 4 boys with ages ranging from 16-24 so we take up a lot of space and need a lot of space. The one caution i would express is that if you are going in the summer, air conditioning would be nice for at least part of the time. There are always a few hot days during the summer when a house can get quite warm. we were fortunate that we missed those days, but if we had not it could have been quite difficult to sleep as the houses can get much warmer on those few days than expected.

i would use resort quest again, and as a matter of fact have used more than once, renting a condo near town for skiing last year. As a caution, the condos are high priced, smaller and be careful on location. I am familiar with the area so was careful, but i remember from searching through the available properties that some "embelish" their location description, etc. and use the description ski-in ski-out very liberally

“FORGET THE CONDO - STICK WITH HOTEL”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2009

We selected a gold category room across from the parking lot of park city mtn near the bunny slope lift. outside of the location, everything else was so sub par.
1. the interior was not very nice, the bathroom was extremely old, the bathtub was tiny, shower was weak and this was a gold category room charging over US$250 a nt.
2. the bed was a queen size when it was advertised as king size.
3. the utensils provided were not clean
4. the fire place did not work, and we caused the smoke alarm to go off
5. JUST NOT A COMFORTABLE place to stay.

Stick to a hotel, dont do a condo, im very hesitant to use anything resort quest now

“Bring your blood pressure meds”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2008

I had a pretty bad experience with ResortQuest. I rented a house (241 Ontario) with a group of friends. While the house itself was very nice, ResortQuest's employees made sure I will never go back.

The highlights:

(1) The property description failed to mention that you need a 4WD vehicle to reach the house in the winter… and if it snows, even an SUV will become a toboggan. Ontario Ave. is an extremely steep, narrow (one car wide), poorly plowed road.

(2) ResortQuest did not clear the driveway, so we arrived to find three feet of snow blocking our path to the garage. Because the road was so narrow we couldn't just park on the side of the road. We called the office and a rather indifferent operator told us, “it’s too late to send someone out there today, so just park in the neighbor’s driveway.” Well, surprise: our car got towed! (At least ResortQuest retrieved the car and paid the fine.) Fortunately our second car escaped with just a nasty note on the windshield.

(3) On our second morning there, a pipe burst, flooding one bedroom. The manager did the responsible thing and moved us to a new place (1209 Stonebridge Cir.) that was equally nice, and offered us compensation for that plus the other hassles. So far, so good. Yet it took multiple phone calls and ignored voicemails to get the refund squared away.

(4) Housekeeping issues: We didn’t have enough towels or sheets for all the beds, and some of the linens were crumpled and dirty (think hair). ResortQuest delivered more the next day in response to our call. At our second place, the previous tenants' garbage was still sitting in the garage and had become quite pungent.

(5) Dealing with ResortQuest's front desk staff made all these problems 10x worse. Expect to be put on hold forever, and then if you’re lucky, you can talk to someone whose attitude is, “don’t know, don’t care, can’t do anything." Or you can leave a voicemail that won't get returned. Once after a few trips through the 'hold' cycle, I was treated to a guy talking in a fake-sounding foreign accent who claimed I had the wrong number (I hadn't dialed again, the answering system had cycled me back to the main number after 5-10 mins on hold). Sorry, but I go on vacation to relax, not to deal with this kind of nonsense!

(6) Also, watch out for that "optional" travel insurance they try to sneak into the contract. Even though I opted out in the online reservation form, the fee reappeared in the paper contract.

“Not bad, but terrible service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2007

Stayed in Greyhawk unit 9. The condo was clean, the rooms reasonably nice -- though I think we could have done better at this price. The problem-- the day after we showed up the hot tub in the unit stopped working. We had specifically told the rental agency when booking that we wanted a hot tub in the unit -- otherwise could have found something considerably less expensive. We called the agency, they promised to fix it. No dice. Called again, next day, again they promised, again nothing happened -- after a long day of skiing, returned to a cold hot tub. This would seem like a minor issue -- but we'd paid for it, looked forward to it. When we left, next day, still no repairs. After returning home I called the agency -- the man at the desk was testy and unhelpful, called me back the next week and offered to refund $150 -- this on a $2000 plus rental week. Not impressive! I wouldn't go back -- there is so much housing available in Park City, you should expect great service at these prices.
