I'm a picky traveler..."discerning" would be a better word. I stayed at Hotel Park City in January, and I couldn't find one bad thing to say of my time in Cottage 444, with a view of the mountain, overlooking a pond with diving ducks.
I was overwhelmed by the look of the room when I unlocked the door for the first time- spacious and upscale in decor, ruggedly classy I'd call it. Granite counter tops in the kitchen and both bathrooms, fine and very clean appliances, including a washer & dryer, plush bedding and a fireplace under the flat screen TV in the totally cozy bedroom, and another fireplace in the family room are all features that made the cottage feel like I really lucked out with my hotel choice. The outside deck with the large hot tub and fireplace confirmed it. Every detail to this place was well-planned with the vacationer in mind. This cottage was likely the nicest room I've ever stayed in all of my 44 years. I paid about $350, though rooms were going for $800 online at the time.
The only thing they need to do in order to get a perfect 10 rating instead of a 9.99 from me would be to add an iPod or iPhone dock or connection to the Bose stereo system. The radio reception there is terrible and was the only music option.
Suggestion: If you stay here and get a cottage (there are 4 to a building) I would recommend you request a 2nd-floor unit. If you're on the first floor and the unit faces the street or entrances, you will have little privacy, especially in the hot tub. Having a 2nd-floor unit made a HUGE difference in privacy, and therefore, in enjoyment.
Room Tip: Get a 2nd-floor cottage if you want full privacy in your personal hot tub.
