“Wonderful!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I had the great pleasure of staying at The Chateaux at Silver Lake for my 1st visit to Sundance. I was very excited about the trip and the pictures on the website were so beautiful, I couldn’t wait to see it in person.

When we arrived, we were checked in promptly and Steve, who later became our frequent driver, showed us to our room and guided us through the amenities. Steve was fabulous and helpful whenever we needed anything. He was sweet and knowledgeable.
We also had Andy and Ian (sp?) as our drivers. Both were fantastic as well. Always prompt, helpful, and personable.

I have to say that my favorite moment of every day was sharing a bottle of wine with one of my fellow travelers. Kryztov was absolutely spot on with all of his recommendations and was a bright spot in our evenings. He treated us wonderfully and seemed to enjoy our enthusiasm for their wonderful selection of wines. He had a fantastic knowledge of the menu and personal opinions and insight on everything. For our last night, he personally picked a wine for us as a surprise and was delighted to see us come back from dinner to enjoy it. I will certainly look forward to seeing him the next time I visit the Chateaux.

Overall, I found the staff to be very friendly, helpful, and upbeat. They were always available with a smile and a helping hand. The rooms were lovely and very clean. My only complaint was the mattress. I found it to be hard and a little tough to sleep on. The spa tub was a welcome relief from the cold, as was the fireplace. I couldn’t have picked a better place to enjoy my first visit to Park City and would gladly return for future visits. Thank you Chateaux!!

“nothing is too hard”

We made a late booking at the Chateau in the second week of Sundance film festival. Our studio was very comfortable. The bed was pulled down each night so during the day the room was very large. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom although small is very useable. We liked the free wireless and the log gas fire.
It is a one minute walk to the slope and the shuttle service was frequent with extremely helpful drivers. All the staff are very well trained and provide service with a smile. Nothing is too hard to arrange and good advice is always on hand.
Breakfasts were high standard with the NY Times always on hand to read.
Cant rate this more highly except that we would have liked bedside tables and reading lamps but decor is left to the owners so cant always predict the layout. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: always check interior layout for the studios

“very cozy place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We spent second time in this chateau about 12 days. We are combining skiing with Sundance FF and at this place we feel like in a home. It is very cozy and elegant place. Amazing location for skiing and 5 minutes from Park City.

The annual Sundance Film Festival is an amazing time to visit Park City. Your trip timing was perfect, this year's event not only brought great films but also 3 feet of snow. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

“Exceeded All Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

While not a skier myself, I try to find a great location each year for my husband's annual ski vacation. This year I saw an advertisement for The Chateaux at Silver Lake in Deer Valley. It looked quite nice, was across from the lifts, and had the amenities that we look for when we go away for pleasure. This resort so far exceeded our expectations that we can't wait to go back! Our room looked out over the slopes, had an electric fireplace that generated lots of heat and looked lovely, a jacuzzi tub/shower combination, a large dressing area complete with coffeemaker, refrigerator with freezer shelf and ice cube maker, toaster, dishes, glasses and silverware, and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in! There was more storage space than we could ever hope to fill and windows that one could actually open!

Included in the room rate were a complete buffet breakfast (which was slightly different each morning, but always delicious and nourishing), free wi-fi in the rooms, twice daily maid service (the nightly turn down service, which was automatic - no need to request it - included re-making the bed if needed and turning down the bedding, replacing towels, washcloths and bath mat and emptying wastebaskets and recyling bin and leaving Lindor tuffles ); there was no charge for valet parking or for the shuttle that takes and picks up guests to and from Main Street in Park City, virtually whenever the guest needs the service. Everyone on the front desk was knowledgeable about the area, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, and seemed to truly enjoy interacting with the guests. The mid-mountain lift was located right across the street, adjacent to the Goldener Hirsch Hotel (so it was almost ski-in, ski-out, but not quite!

We ate in Cena, the hotel's restaurant, twice, and utilized room service once. The restaurant menu offered lots of good choices and we enjoyed each night's selections. The service (including breakfast) was attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. The last night, because I wasn't feeling well, we ordered from room service with a bunch of special requests to accommodate what I felt I could handle. It was probably the most perfect room service we've had - every request was complied with, the preparation was great, and the food arrived nice and hot. They didn't miss a single thing.

Would we go back? You bet!

“Good fined”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Just stayed at the Chateaux in Deer Valley. I was concerned that the distance to the slopes would be a problem but from the lobby it is a just across the street. one day the porter carried our skiis for us!! NO PROBLEM....You can store you skiis for free at the base of the mountain which was a great feature.
Our suite was beautiful and we had a view of the slopes. There was a concern about our room but Jackie was more than accommodating and we loved our suite with two fireplaces and kitchen.
We had the ski package which included lift tickets and breakfast buffet.
While it was not cheap , i guess you get what you pay for.
