“Would def stay here again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We just got back from Sundance and had a great time and a great experience at the Hampton Inn just outside of Park City UT. My only complaint with the hotel is that I booked through Orbitz and asked for non-smoking, but they put us on a smoking floor and said there were no non-smoking left for the days we'd be there. It was quite smokey on our floor. Other than that - no complaints. Breakfast was wonderful and saved us from eating out an extra time each day. The hours and variety of food were excellent. The pool and hot tub are large and hours were good. The room was very clean and a nice size. The water pressure and temp was good. Hot coffee, tea, hot choc in lobby at all hours. Free city bus stops right in front of hotel every half hour. Only a few miles from Main Street, but cost less than staying right in town. Close to walmart and interstate. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with smoke, be sure to get a non smoking room!

“Warm cookies at 5 pm”

I am here now, during Sundance, and the warm cookies laid out at the counter are the highlight. I just had 5. It is amazing how the small stuff makes a difference. Elsewhere, this is a solid hotel a $20 taxi ride from Main Street, and around the corner from a Walmart (I had never been in one before). Advantages: decent breakfast, friendly staff. Cons: thin walls and ceilings, but this is a common complaint with me. The flat screen TV set is slow to respond to the remote, not that there is much to watch anyway.

“Affordable hotel within a short-drive to 3 ski resorts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Kimball Junction/Park City during our week long stay over New Years. The hotel is exceptionally affordable and is a short and easy drive from three ski resorts as well as downtown Park City. The hotel is next door to a WalMart and across the street are two grocery stores (including a Whole Foods), the state liquor store as well as a ton of small shops and restaurants. The hotel is the typical Hampton Inn - clean, safe, affordable and provide hot coffee all day long!

The only dissapointment was that we paid extra to get a room with a small kitchenette. The kitchette had a small stove top of which the large burner didn't work for most of our stay despite asking management twice to fix it. Also, the cooking "utensils" that the hotel supplied were pathetic for a Hampton Inn - A very small sauce pan and a very small skillet were it! The. These pans weren't enough to cook spaghetti in and barely allowed us to scamble eggs in the morning. Also, no knives (other than a dinner knife) were provided. As such, we did a lot of "pre cooked meals" from the nearby grocery stores and used the hotels cutlery to eat it. Also, no oven was provided but a really nice large fridge and freezer. That being said, definitely plan to stay here the next time we are in Park City - we will plan to pack a few kitchen utensils unless the hotel hears my pleas and upgrades the pans provided.

Great to hear that, overall, you enjoyed your stay. I am very disappointed to hear you had trouble with one of the burners on the stove. I dont recall ever hearing about a problem over New Years and I would like to apologize that the message was not relayed to me. I definitely take every complaint seriously and it is our goal to resolve every single issue. I am sorry that this did not get resolved! Please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss it further at melissa.smith5@hilton.com

Thank you for the suggestions for our kitchens. I hear you! We are in the process of buying some new items that will help make cooking easier.

Thanks again, and regards,
Melissa Smith

“Convenient, quiet, clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Despite not being "in town" this hotel is easy to stay at for a skiier not looking for the swanky atmosphere of the on-hill resorts. Parking here was free and a quick and easy drive to PC resorts where parking was also free. No hassle! Clean, well maintained and remodeled. Free breakfast is always a bonus for budget watchers. Rooms had plenty of space and extra places to hang up damp ski clothes. The only minor complaint we had was when asking for restaurant and "things to do" (besides skiing) recommendations, the front desk staff didn't seem to have any. They referred to brochures and local tourism magazines.

“Close to the slopes and restaurants.”

If You want to try out some different ski resorts in salt lake city and do it on a budget. This is the place, central to all of them and only a few minuets driving time.
