“They overcharge despite the deal made in reservation!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2010

The owner is a mean Indian guy who totally ignored the reservation I made through telephone with his wife, as he implied when I checked in. He said: "I don't care what reservation you made. " When I show him the confirmation code and the price for the 2-queen room I confirmed with his wife, he said "I didn't hold the room for you and now you either take the 3-queen room or hit the road." When I said "I made the reservation and you are supposed to reserve the room for me and if not it's your problem and should not charge me extra." He threatened (again), "Give me your card and I'll refund you, and you hit the road!" That was about 1 or 2 am when he clearly knew there was probably zero chance for us to find another hotel with vacancy. This is the most terrible hotel experience I ever had.

Owner is sociable, kind, and pleasant with a great sense of humor. Room was large and very comfortable. There's a full kitchen with a refrigerator for guests to use and the foyer has a comfortable lounge to relax in. Parking is covered from the elements. Building is in the center of town, historic and interesting to look around. I will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to everyone!

“Very unpleasant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

The bathroom was not at all clean. Ring of mold or dirt in toilet. The tub was PAINTED white and dirty. The dresser had six "drawers", but only the top two were drawers and the other four were just drawer fronts that were screwed shut--no drawer. Nobody was at the front desk when we arrived. A worker had to call the owner/manager, who came from another hotel owned by her, to check us in. There was no security. No one was present in the hotel lobby all night with the doors unlocked. The lobby area was more than untidy. It was a mess with old brochures and maps Scotch taped to a window. Floors dirty. There was much more wrong, but I think someone else said it best, "uninhabitable."

“Panguitch Hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2010

Where do I begin...Stains and tears on the quilts, hair on all pillows, broken blinds and a filthy and stained bathtub. When we complained to the front desk about the hair and the torn quilt the solution was to replace the bedding with even more hair and then just remove the torn blanket and not replace it with another one.

The hotel did have underground parking which was really nice, however there was garbage all over the place.

Avoid this hotel at all costs and I wish we would have read these reviews before staying there!!

“Walking distance to Everything!”

Now don't get me wrong, this is a small town but it's really nice to be able to relax as much as possible and at the Panguitch Inn you can do that easily. There's a great BBQ just across the street along with gift shops. All the town events also pass right in front of this Inn. There's a front lobby too which makes it easy to meet the other guests in the inn and have good conversation with the inn keeper, nice guy.
