“Bitter and unfriendly staff, not baby friendly”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We have never seen staff/owners of a hotel so unfriendly and just plain bitter - like they didn't want to be there. And this just wasn't one person on one day. It started with our three calls before the trip and four interactions with them during our stay. Family-friendly? Hardly! They have no cribs, no high chairs, etc and the "family suite" was definitely misrepresented. The check in was poor as was the check out. We specifically requested something on the first floor due to traveling with the family - we confirmed a week before and day of. When we arrived, we were on the top floor, the furthest room from the stairs. It almost seemed deliberate. The breakfast was subpar- appliances not well maintained and they never restocked. First come, first serve and you get crumbs if you have a later breakfast. The room was okay, but I wouldn't go back. On a final note, we are rather low maintenance travelers. We set our expectations accordingly. We set the bar at average to subpar with this place, choosing it solely for it's proximity to Bryce. And our expectations were still not met.

“DON'T GO! This hotel literally made me sick!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011 via mobile

Save your money abd health and Do not go to this dump! The only good thing about it is the location to Bryce Canyon National Park. The staff, which appeared to be the owning family, is very unfriendly and hardly said hello. The included breakfast was acceptable: toast, three types of cereals, waffles. However, the bar wasn't clean, no restocking and the milk was just out in the heat. The room we had (#116 across the street of the new office) looked fine at first glance and very large for three adult travelers with two queens and one twin bed - perfect we thought until we entered. Dust everywhere, the room didn't even seemed vacuumed from the previous people (leftover pieces of chips bags on the floor etc). I saw a fly sitting on the wall that i wanted to kill until i noticed it must've already been squished by a previous guest, don't want to know how long it has been sitting threre. The refrigerator needed deep cleaning before we could store our water & picnic in there as it had a layer of mold inside. The bathroom was super moist and moldy, felt like a swamp literally, even the toilet paper was wet! The next morning I woke up with the worst headache, felt dizzy and nauseous from all the mold and had to leave the room immediately. I have stayed in very simple hotels and backpackers across Europe and Asia but this is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Next time I'd rather save my $100 and put up a tent in the fresh, clean, healthy air of Bryce Canyon!

“rooms ok, management lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2010

While the room was nice and clean, the manager needs a lot of training in people skills. He gave an air of disdain to the women
staying there, including my wife. The clothes dryer there in the laundry room ran,but had no heat. When I told the young man at the desk, his response was "Sorry, i will let a service man know." No concern for the money wasted and didn't offer any help until asked. Then he said there was a laundromat at another facilty, and gave it's name only, not how to get there. Our first morning,we talked to 4 ladies that were in a room just down from us, and all 4 remarked how badly they were treated. When we checked in,the manager took the credit card from my wife, and then dealt strictly with me,and gave the card to me,and
did not even address her.Though the accomadations were OK, the general feeling we got from staying there was less than pleasant. The first room they gave us was not a smoking room,as requested, and we were "called down" for being a day late in arriving, when after a second review,we were exactly on time. Then they had us move to a
more appropriate room. The breakfast area was not clean, the milk was sitting out,and the supplies were not restocked,as there was no one overseeing the area. The breakfast area was in need of at least wiping down, and did not get that as guests came & went though the manager was less than 15 feet away.

“Will never stay here again - Very Old & Tiny Rooms - Shabby motel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2010

Another one of those very old motels. Can't spend more than a night here. I spent about $84 (including tax) of a night's stay here. We wanted to find something cheap and close to Bryce Canyon Natl. Park. I stayed here because I didn't want to spend more. But I now believe I will find much better place for a few extra bucks or even for less.

Room was tiny. Shower was not hot. Beds were no fun. Appearance was shabby from inside. TV was old. Furnitures were super old and not well kept either. I don't see these kind of places in American anymore. I travel about 15-20 times a year and many times to small and remote places like Mexican Hat, UT & Panguitch, UT.

I will strongly advice to look for a different hotel. There are plenty of them but not this one.

“Not bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2010

The room was very dated. Overall it was clean and big with two sinks in the bathroom. The people in the room above us were so noisy I could hear their steps the whole night. That was really terrible. The town itself was horrifying and very deserted - almost scary. Almost everything was closed (saturday early evening) and there were no people on the streets at all.

We had dinner in a small and surprisingly full of people place called "The cowboys smoke shop" with live music.
