i stayed here for 11 nights
all the staff were awesome
room was immaculate
breakfast was excellent
free 24h coffee and tea
and free wifi (only negative point and its very minor is that wifi has security setting and would reset every day so you would have to keep putting your access code in which sometimes happened bang in the middle of writing webmails)

We are so glad you like the Hampton Inn & Suites in Ogden. We agree our amenities are great. The security settings are on a 24 hour schedule and it seems they drop at the most inconvenient time. But they do provide needed security. Thank you for staying with us, We love having you here.

“Great Place to Stay!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

We stayed at the Ogden Hampton Inn for a night at the first of December. The lobby was decorated nicely for the holidays. (Although I miss the replica Gingerbread Hotel that they had last year-it was amazing!) We were with a group for my husbands work party, and the regular rooms were sold out-so they upgraded us to a suite. Talk about roomy!! I loved it! We will always book a suite there from now on. Staff is friendly and attentive. Free breakfast was fair...we got there at the end, so some food items were gone. Overall fantastic stay.

Room Tip: Get the Suite-They are twice the size of a regular room.

Thank you staying at our beautiful hotel; we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our decorations for the holidays, we especially like this time of year to show off the talents of our staff. We are glad you like the suites, they are roomy and comfortable, definitely one of our greatest assets. I am always pleased to hear that our Front Desk staff was friendly and attentive, but wish your breakfast experience had been better. We appreciate your comments and look forward to your next stay.
Thanks again for your nice comments

“Great place to stay in the heart of a vibrant city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

This old hotel has been completely renovated and is really fabulous. The hotel has its character and flair, but is so modern and comfortable... and for the rate? Definitely worth it!
The lobby is stylish and cozy, and the rooms are enormous. My room had the biggest bathroom I've ever had in a hotel! They kept the old window (where the glass runs and the old wooden frames scream "HISTORY HERE!"), but added additional panes to the inside for comfort and efficiency. The room decor was stylish and modern, but integrated beautifully with the historic building.
The hotel is within walking distance to great restaurants, a mall, performing arts centers and fun, funky shops. As a former "Ogdenite" who hadn't stayed in Ogden since graduating from college 20 years ago, I was totally impressed with the changes to this city. The city is full of interesting things to see and do. I'll be back to this hotel in this city!
The only downfall was the traffic noise from 24th Street. It sounded like someone was loading up a roll off at 4am with the crashing, crunching and back up warning noise. But other than that- perfection!

Thank you for your wonderful comments. Twenty years ago, as you will remember this building was in the process of renovation along with the building of the Conference Center next door. We are fortunate that the elegance and style of the original building was kept in place. Our hotel is, indeed, a showplace that native Ogdenites, like you, can be proud of. Yes, many great and progressive changes have occurred in Ogden. And more, are still to come. Keep coming back, staying with us and observing the growth into the future. We love having you here!

“Very comfortable and cozy...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

In town for a funeral and needed last minute accommodations. I understand that this building has quite a historic past but has been kept up very nicely. The hotel has a boutique-like vibe to it. I was greeted by a very courteous and helpful front desk staff. My room was very comfortable, cozy, and clean. The hotel serves a very nice 'full' breakfast, lots of good stuff with plenty of variety. I think the best part about this place is its a tremendous value, especially with all the amenities you get. You can pay 2-3 times as much for the same kind of accommodations at other hotels. I know parking is a bit of an issue but they allow curbside parking for registration and drop off/pick up. Also, the in-room heater/AC is a bit noisy but it didn't disrupt my sleep but a light sleeper might find it annoying. But I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly!!

First, please accept my sympathies regarding your reason for being in Ogden.
We are very proud of our boutique style hotel and are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our staff makes every effort to give you the cleanest, most comfortable room in Ogden. You, along with many of our guests, find our breakfast great. Thank you. Because we are in a historic building the heating and air conditioning are individual heat exchange units in an enclosed area which sometimes makes them a bit noisy. Parking is not only an issue for us, but for the entire downtown area. Thanks for your recommendation and we’ll see you next time

“Nice downtown location! Military Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

My army son was being relocated to Fort Lewis and this was our stop en route from Omaha. We arrived dead tired at nearly 1am.
We were told there were no rooms available.....then maybe after hearing our story of our travel the manager approached and said a room was available. I asked the price and the employee said it was $195 or something unreasonable for a 6 hour sleep. The manager again jumped in and said "Why are you travelllng? We filled him in and he said the cost was $75.

I sometimes feel this means they might have been trying to take advantage of tired travellers or perhaps there was a miscommunication between employees. Either way the room was roomy, clean and comfortable....exactly what you expect from a Hampton.

The lobby was nicer than many Hampton's since this was in a restored older building. Excellent breakfast to start our day and a bag of snack to keep us going until midnight the next day!

Perhaps your observation of “miscommunication between employees” is close. Occasionally we have new front desk agents on duty, whose confidence is still developing. It may have been that our new agent was going by the book, while the more experienced manager was able to offer you a government rate due to military travel. We apologize for any appearance of an unreasonable rate being offered. Thank you for staying with us and we hope the rest of your trip was successful
