“Great for me and my dog!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

On a road trip. This property fit the bill. Recently remodeled. Nice, inviting lobby. Spacious, clean room. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Friendly staff. I highly recommend. Ordered take-out from the restaurant (Cactus Reds). Average chain food, IMO. The breakfast is served here in the a.m. Lots of options including eggs and bacon and the rest. Traveling with my dog who is a seasoned traveler, but has an old injury causing a limp. We travel all over the country. She drags her foot so my criteria is specific -- open floor plan in room, lots of grass so she's not dragging on gravel or concrete. For those reasons and more I love this property and will definitely stay again when I'm driving through. Lots and lots of grass all over the premises for a nice long walk. One of my best experiences. I went with "very good" only because this is just road side lodging. It's not like Kimpton Inn or something. One gripe: Fellow dog owners don't clean up after their dogs enough. I assure you I did, and always do. Come on people. Get with it!

Room Tip: If you have a dog, go for a room on the south end of the property. Lots of grass.

We thank you for your reponse. We enjoy having owners and their pets stay with us. The large grass area does make it nice for playing catch or frisbee with your pets. As stated, our property has undergone a total makeover, making it even more inviting for traveling guests. Our goal is to make you part of our family and have you as comfortable as possible while you are with us. We thank you for your business and your comments. We would appreciate your staying with us again when traveling through Ogden.

Sincerely,
Susan Cross

“Not as good as previously, but will give it another go”

My hubby and I decided to stay here as it's been our go-to hotel when in Ogden visiting friends. This time there is a lot of construction going on and though I hadn't previously noticed there was a lot of noise from the room above us. The room was clean, but worn, and I sincerely hope they are replacing most of the fixtures and closet doors as the age is very evident. Also though we didn't do anything to it the toilet wasn't flushing correctly and the front desk brought a plunger to our room.

The carpet was marked out where it will be replaced and the contractors were milling about. We were on the end of the hotel near the maids laundry and I was a little bothered that the doors were left open to that area during our entire stay.

We didn't try the breakfast at the attached restaurant this visit because we were too pressed for time. I couldn't help but feel that the main manager wasn't in during our stay. Depending on how reviews continue as time goes on we may need to find another go-to.

Thank you for your review and your past business with us. Yes, we have finished with our total renovation of the hotel. As with any remodel be it a home or business there is always a little commotion no matter how hard we try to accommodate all of our guests to the service they deserve. The Comfort Suites Ogden now has the "NEWEST LOOK" of any hotel in Ogden. All rooms, lobby, common areas as well as pool and fitness areas have been totally remodeled.
We appreciate your review and would look forward to having you stay with us again now that we have the finished product.

Sincerely, Susan Cross

“Remodeling in progress, strong fresh paint smell, broke ac unit, very expensive and the worst breakfast.”

We checked in July 6th at around 2:00am in the morning after a long drive with two kids and what we found wasn't a very pleasant experience. The room had a very strong paint and musty odor and the ac unit wasn't working properly...loud noise and no cold air so we ended up turning it off and sleeping in that odor. At around 8:30 we woke up with a very loud noise, like broken glass, walls (felt like an earthquake) to find out that from our room down the hallways there was a big remodeling and by the time we checked out there was a pile of debris all along the hallway. I wish there was someone out there to let me know about this hotel. We ended up paying $100 and not getting the rest that we paid for. Worst experience ever. Be aware.

“Nice but don't bother with the restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

The room was nice, a bit run down but comfortable. The front desk lady was very nice. I ordered dinner from the restaurant attached to the hotel and it was terrible so don't bother with that. I skipped breakfast thinking it would be prepared by the same restaurant and I didn't want to spoil my morning. I would stay again, just find somewhere else to eat.

“Nice little hotel”

We just stayed for one night, and it met our needs beautifully. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was ICE COLD, but I think they must have been having problems because someone said that it was warm when they had been there the week before.
There was a little mold in the bathroom corners, but nothing horrible. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. Definitely would stay here again.
My only other complaint was that the treadmill (only one) was broken which hindered my morning work out.
