“Excellent value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Wife and I stayed here overnight while visiting a friend from Salt Lake; it was spur of the moment, and we were quite happy with the value for what we paid. The rooms were nothing to write home about (which was fine), and the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if I needed 1-2 nights in the area.

“A value stay, not far from Salt Lake City central”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

I have been to Salt Lake a number of times and each time, stayed at a higher end hotel like a Sheraton or Hampton. Economics times being what they are, instead of paying 149-259 a night, I decided to investigate chainless hotels that are a bit away from city central. On the internet, I stumbled upon the Pavilion Inn in Murray Utah which is located at 5300 South, right off the I-15 exit. I had read many reviews about it on travel advisor and found much of them to be pretty accurate. First off, I paid 48 a night and not the 199 or higher, I would have paid at a more upscale hotel. I stayed there 5 nights so the way I see it, my 250 dollar bill was what I would have paid for one night at a more lavish hotel. My 48.00 per night stay included a breakfast bar, free wireless internet, free long distance calls, an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, free use of their washing machine and dryer along with free detergent, as well as free coffee and hot chocolate all day and cookies..... that were put out at about 3PM in the afternoon.
The place was a little dated and needed to be spruced up a bit but the hotel staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. There is a trax stop, about 1/2 mile away at Intermountain Medical along with a Costco and other stores. The bed was too soft for my comfort and the ac/heater was a bit noisey but to save well over 100.00 a night, it was was well worth the price. I listen to Arthur Frommer who often preaches about VALUE in your stay. This place had many free amenities and proved to be a great value for the dollar.

Room Tip: Request a mountain view room on a higher floor for a more scenic stay. We were located on the ground...

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

We have stayed in many rooms in the area over a 10 year period and this is by far the best value for SLC we have found. When booked on line, you will get a good discount. Beds were very comfortable for two people with bad backs. Room was clean and comfortable. There is a microwave, fridge, cable tv, and free WiFi.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. Easy access to I-15. Awesome amenities like free hot breakfast (healthy options available) in the morning. 24 hour coffee/tea. Free USA Today papers. PC use in lobby. 24 hour pool and hot tub, which we appreciated after a 9 hour road trip. Stay at the Pavilion Inn.

“Was I at the same hotel?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

I must have gotten an old room because it was outdated and the bed was old and uncomfortable. The pillow top had seen better days. The mattress pad and sheets did not fit and slid off with every turn. The beds were also very squeaky, the lighting poor (hard to read), the walls thin and the shower tile needed major cleaning. I noticed that the hotel staff never smiled!
It did have a great location, very good breakfast & cookies and was a good value. I'm just not so sure it was worth the aching back and poor sleep.

Room Tip: Bring your own mattress and sheets

“Extras”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

We really enjoyed all the extras this hotel offered. The pool and spa are open all night. Cookies and coffee are available in the lobby. Not only is the guest laundry complimentary but so are the detergent and fabric softener sheets. Breakfast is one of, if not the best, we have had in hotels. The room was very nice and included a flat panel tv set. We asked and were told this is an independently owned and operated property. The price for this hotel and the wonderful service is hard to match. Our compliments and best wishes to the owner. Thank you for a great stay.
