“It's Excellent !”

Although it is not now a part of the Best Western chain, all the standards of a large competitive group were there at the Wayside Inn. It was quiet, very clean, comfortable and welcoming and you knew you had a clean comfy bed to sleep in. Lots of 'in room' extras- fridge, microwave, coffee, toiletries. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to go there again. All this for a very reasonable rate indeed! Nice restaurant next door but one, which completed the conveniences offered. Thank you so much Wayside Inn !

“New mgmt; much nicer rooms than previous stays...”

Not actually a Best Western property, even though it is still advertised as such and many of the toiletry items and what-not suggest that it is. The friendly front desk people informed us that they are not still a Best Western property. Still, it looks deceptive to keep using the Best Western logo on so many of the room products. Nonetheless, the room appeared to have been recently renovated and was quite clean and pleasant. An excellent value for what you get.

“Clean, friendly, fair price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2011

Stayed here Apr 30th on our way to Moab. Great stopover point. All rooms are nonsmoking, no pets. Rooms were good size w/ fridge and micro. Manager was very friendly, gave some great travel tips for the Needles Overlook of Canyonlands. Spectacular views, 22 miles off Rt 191, not marked on most travel maps. Slept late and missed the breakfast so can't rate the food. Ate at the Lamplight in town that evening and had a great meal. Would definitely stay here again.

“Exceeded expectaions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2011

Was not expecting alot since I had read the reviews from other travelers but I was more than pleasantly surprised. I don't know what some of these guests had experienced but my stay was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and met all of our needs. It is a small town after all. Maybe what people should realize is that things available in other areas will not be the same in a very small rural community Rooms were very large but we stayed in the "over-sized" double queen rooms. It was twice the size of a "normal" hotel room with great bathrooms and showers for only $10 more...Great value!!! Breakfast was similar to most other motels with an expanded continental. They did have peanut butter. i was in heaven. English muffins with peanut butter....life doesn't get better.

“Richie Rich from Detroit makes our stay very memorable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010

After having traveled 20 straight hours, Monticello was a sight for sore eyes and the Wayside Inn provided us with a reasonably priced stay and service that made us want to recommend it to anyone going through that part of Utah! Rich was the manager the night/morning we were there, and he was awesome. He went and got us bags of ice since the machine wasn't working correctly, he fixed the orange juice machine, and most importantly he made us laugh. Rich told us not to ask people around town for oil because everyone carried guns, so he sent us to a place he knew would give us a quart of oil without trying to rip us off. He also told us hilarious stories about poking rattlesnakes with sticks and how he ended up in rural Utah from Detroit, Michigan. Most importantly to us he absolutely loved Utah and made us appreciate the state as well! We have fond memories of our stay at the hotel because of his friendliness and determination to make our trip memorable.
