“Bed Bug Bites All Over Our Bodies”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at National 9 and were willing to forgive the running toilet, the flickering light and the overall dumpy appearance.

What is unforgivable is the 300+ bed bug bites we left with between the two of us. Only a few appeared at first and then over the course of our 4hour drive home more and more kept appearing. I counted 160 on my body alone. My skin reacted allergically and the bites filled with fluid. They kept me up for almost a week after our stay and finally I went to a dermatologist.

He gave me a prescription antihistamine with a sleep aid and a steroid cream. This helped them heal more quickly and after about 3 weeks my skin looked normal again.

This was a horrible experience that I would wish on no one.

I am the owner of this motel. Every motel gets bedbugs occasionally. They come in, in people's suitcases.Believe me they are a nightmare for us too. We own 2 motels. I had the same experience the last time I was in SLC. We did have them evidently in the room you stayed in, but we didn't know about them until you reported them to us. They generally only come out at night when people sleep. This was the only room they were in and the only incident we had, had all year. We called the exterminator over the next day after you reported this. We are very sorry for your discomfort. The manager that I had then, is gone. I trust that he refunded your money. We have since put in new carpet, drapes, beds, and furniture. We have maids that do an excellent job of cleaning. A review like this can distroy our business and we only get business 7 mo. out of the year. (Touism mostly) I hope you never have this happen to you again and am truely sorry that this happened.

“Never Again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

I've stayed in this motel for years on my trips to Southern Utah. It must be under new management because our last trip was horrible. Filthy, unprofessional, poor service, no soap--only a few adjectives to describe our stay

I am the owner of this motel. I am truely sorry for your bad experience. We appreciate your business. We have made alot of changes. New name, new management, new carpet, beds, furniture, TV's, and drapes. We also fired the maid who was not doing a good job. We hope that you will try us again.

“Good motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We did not expect much from this motel, but were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean. The carpet was either new or just steam cleaned. The mattresses were new. The owner said they are being renovated.
This is a good motel is you traveling through Monticello.

“Stay was ok...will probably pick another motel next trip though.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We only stayed here because the motel we stayed at the night prior was booked full for a second nights stay. When we walked into our room we couldn't help but laugh :) This motel is very dated and rooms are small, but clean. The bed was very low to the ground. My 6' 3" husband looked quite funny crawling into such a short bed. It had very dated wallpaper, furniture & lighting, but hey...it was a cheap nights stay. This room needs a new shower head in the worst way. The shower head was stuck on the "pins & needles" setting. You literally came out of the shower with red marks. When my husband tried to adjust it the shower head just fell off.....twice! Needless to say only one of us got to shower that morning. The toilet was quite wobblely as well. It did though have a fridge and microwave & The staff was very nice, friendly & helpful and did I mention it was clean! There was plenty of parking & its a great location right on main street.
