The quality of the inn was exceptional and the rooms are very romantic. There was a lot of outdoor activities to do around the area. The one major problem we had was they were giving a tour of the rooms and "mistakenly" opened up our room without knocking to see if there was anyone in the room when my wife and I were having an "intimate" moment, if you know what I mean. To say the least we were very embarrassed and it should have never happened. They did comp us dinner at the onsite restaurant but it is hard to make up for that big of a mistake.

My husband and I celebrated our twentieth anniversary in May 2003. We decided to have dinner at the Blue Boar on a whim, and we are so glad that we did. The restaurant staff were very attentive, the table was decorated for our personal occasion, and the cuisine was fabulous. We had the lamb chops. So delicious and they melt in your mouth. The chef was equally superior with all the dishes we had.

The sparkling pear cider was delicious, and served in champagne glasses. Everything about our dinner was perfect, right down to the fireplace crackling away, and the lights all around the restaurant glimmering, making it feel so special.

We will definitely go back next year and probably make it an anniversary tradition.

My fiance and I enjoyed an exquisite dinner and night's stay for my birthday recently. The evening started with superior service in the Blue Boar's full restaurant where we enjoyed a glass of wine, spinach fuji apple salad and beef tenderloin that melted in my mouth. Homemade apple struedel was for dessert, but the best part of our stay was only beginning. We retired to the William Shakespeare room (all of the rooms are named after famous literary figures) where we were greeted by a rose and chocolates on the bed. We snuggled up in front of the fireplace and enjoyed a warm bath in the jetted tub. I slept like never before on the king-size, feather-top bed. To finish our experience, the Blue Boar served a 5-course breakfast on Sunday morning. While enjoying the mountain views and breeze, we indulged upon pastries, fruit, crepes, Eggs Benedict, Belgian Waffle and strawberry tart for dessert.
I highly recommend the Blue Boar Inn for your next romantic getaway!

We celebrated our Aniversary at the Blue Boar Inn. We were treated with many surprises. Our experiance was one we will never forget. In fact we plan to go again for this years wedding aniversary. The Inn keeper and staff were wonderful. Sunday brunch was to die for, we recommend it very much!
