We just got back from a Father's Day stay at the Blue Boar Inn, we have stayed there before and have eaten there a number of times. it really is a beautiful place. our first stay was in the William Shakespear room, a balcony and sitting area, we read Romeo and Julliet in the sitting area. This visit we stayed in the Rudyard Kippling room, smaller, no balcony or sitting area, but very nicely appointed, remember there are extra pillows in the closet (and robes) since they use a ton of decorative ones on the bed and you really need two of the real ones to sleep. At check in the woman who was running the desk seemed new and a little stressed, we checked in, i went back to the desk to order a bottle of champaigne and she wanted to know if I had paid for an upgrade because we were not staying in a standard room, i told her i had not requested anything, only that the reservation agent booked us into a room that he liked.....guess he was new, they had him on the phone to verify what he said to me and what i said to him.....eh. The food for the brunch was absolutely wonderful, poached eggs, with crab meat, spinich and potaoes, great coffee and fruit. We have always had the best food there. We ate outside and it was lovely. Check out took a little longer than we wanted, one person at the desk on Father's day, who wouldn't acknowledge the people waiting in line, ....not a multi-tasker. The innkeeper did come out and say hello at breakfast which was nice. of course i would go back, the check in and out is easy to fix, the setting and the food is fabooo.
