My husband and I stayed at the Magnuson while in SLC for a business trip. We will not be going back!
For starters, the outside doors have a security pad for the electic key, but it was broken so the side door was just left unlocked.
Our room was okay, other then it looked like someone before us had a pet and it had peed all over the bed skirts on both beds. The water was also an issue. It was scalding hot, or ice cold. I could never find a just right, or even a luke warm setting.
When we checked in we asked what time they started breakfast. We had a 7:00 am meeting and wanted to know if we could grab something there or if we would need to find a resturant. The manager informed us breakfast started at 6:00 am. When my husband went down at 6:00 am he was told by the clerk that she wouldn't even start putting things out until 6:30. At 6:35 they still had not started putting anything out.
While my husband was getting breakfast I was out starting the car. After I started it I locked the doors and went inside. The morning clerk was very rude. She informed me that "we do not let bums in to warm up." I was very offended by this as I had a room and I was dressed nice since we were ready to go to a meeting.

This was an unbelieveable find. We wanted to ski in Utah and we found this family run hotel. The service was impeccable and the people were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean and room service was great, fresh towels every day and cleaning of the room daily as well. The shower was great, lots of hot water and the bathroom was very clean. This was a great hotel with a great location about 25 minutes to Brighton, Solitude, Alta and Snowbird and about 25 minutes from Salt Lake City airport. It was also a very short drive to center city Salt Lake with great shopping and dining options. There is a Denny's right across the street but I suggest the Midvale Mining company restaurant just down the block...excellent breakfasts and reasonably priced. There is a continental breakfast offered at the hotel at no additional charge and was very well stocked with cereals, juice and make your own waffles. We were able to get our lift tickets right at the hotel which saved us lots of time and money as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family members that are travelling to Salt Lake.

Very nice property. Good beds, large room. No fridge or microwave, sadly, because we have to stay a couple days for work, but we will be back. The night staff was very friendly, he even let me borrow his salt shaker. The lobby was clean and inviting with a workstation available. We missed breakfast, so I can't comment. There is guest laundry and a pool. The rooms are laid out in a staggered pattern for added quiet and privacy. We are thankful for that. Restaurant in front of motel and a pool couple well stocked gas stations across the street. Mcdonalds about 1the block away. So far so good.

We booked the king suite for a great deal. Nice bed, two bathrooms. Very friendly staff. Just off the highway.
