We've had very good luck with Comfort Inns. This was no exception. On the "spur of the moment" during a 4th of July weekend trip to Southeast Idaho, we decided to include another night and travel to Logan, Utah at the last minute (I usually make my reservations well ahead of time). We pulled over to the side of the road and called Choice Hotels and were fortunate to find one room left at this Comfort Inn for the senior rate of $63 + tax. This is a very clean and quiet hotel located on the outskirts of Logan to the south. It was an especially convenient location for us as it was within a mile or so of the golf course which we decided to play the next day plus within a short driving distance of various restaurants. As for restaurants, this was the only complaint I had with the Comfort Inn. We asked the very friendly young lady at the front desk for recommendations for restaurants in Logan. She mentioned a few and told us the easiest way to get there and avoid all the traffic who were lined up to watch their annual July 4th Parade. We started driving and within a short distance from the hotel we found a restaurant, The Beehive Grill & Pub, which had a number of cars in the parking lot which indicated to us it was probably a good place to eat. Anyway, we found the place delightful with great food at reasonable prices, fantastic service, and a nice atmosphere. We were so impressed by it that we asked for information to take back to the hotel so we could recommend it to fellow travelers. When we got back to the hotel there was a line of people waiting to check in so we were unable to talk to the same young lady at the front desk but we did discover in the lobby a desk with a myriad of restaurant information and discount coupons, of which the Beehive was one (offered a 15% discount off your total bill). Obviously, we were a little upset that the young lady at the front desk never even mentioned this desk in the lobby or all the discount coupons available as we're always into saving a few dollars. The continental breakfast offered at the hotel is your typical Comfort Inn breakfast with boiled eggs, waffles, packaged oatmeal, danish, cereal, fruit, etc. We'd definitely stay here again and I'd only hope when travelers like us ask for restaurant recommendations we'd be informed of all the information including discounts they have on restaurants in the area.
