On June 9, I, my husband, daughter, two grandchildren stay at the Super 8 in Lehi. The room was not as clean as I would have liked. I have worked in a motel and this compared poorly to the one I had worked in.

The breakfast had no protein and was high in carbohydrates. The pool was so chlorinated we could not swim as it broke us out and caused severe itching.

We returned again on the 14th and the room was even worse. Around the mop boards had not been vacuumed and it looked as if there was dog poop in the carpet. Don't get me wrong, we have several dogs and travel with them, but I have never ran into such a mess.

My husband went to check out the breakfast and there was nothing left.

We had stayed here in March and really enjoyed our stay, but we will not return again.

First, it was clean, and the service was pretty good. The night desk clerk was amiable and helpful when we checked in very late.

But then there are some annoying things. Like their advertised "high-speed internet." It wasn't speedy. Connectivity, at least on the third floor, was terrible. My new notebook computer couldn't do streaming video, for example. Downloads were slow at best.

Few in Utah likely would sympathize with me on this. But it's the motel's policy not to allow drinking in this motel. I was looking forward to enjoying a few microbrew beers (try Capt. B!stard's Oatmeal Stout if you can find it -- I had to edit the word b!stard to get this review past the filtersA), but had to scuttle that plan -- and this was supposed to be my vacation.

The breakfast bar was just OK -- but frustrating. There was such a big line to use the waffle maker, and I finally gave up. There is zilch protein there, unless you settle for a peanut butter or cream cheese pre-fab micro-container. I couldn't find any knives nor forks. I spread the peanut butter with a spoon onto a tiny bagel. I only tried the breakfast bar once. My wife tried the breakfast bar three times and said they ran out of orange juice when she visited. Granted, this isn't meant to be a 4-star dining experience. I didn't know that you could get the local newspaper delivered to your room until the last day of our three-day stay, and then I saw them lining the hallway. I would have asked for a newspaper had I known.

This motel might suit a lot of folks, but I'll look for something else when I visit my Utah relatives next time.

What could be 3 or 4 out of 5 stars gets downgraded for the above-cited reasons to 2 stars because of motel policy shoving its morals down my unsuspecting throat, and also because of Internet problems. If you're a tea-totaler who doesn't care about Web access, and you're going to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, this might be a great place for you.

we were in town for our grandsons wedding - nothing but trouble. the reservation was wrong, the front desk was very unconcerned about meeting our needs. after the first night (terribly noisy), we decided to move hotels, they threatened to charge for the next 3 nights as well until we talked to their corporate customer service. when the corporate people called the hotel, they still had wrong information in their system. it was like we didnt exist until they wanted to bill us.

I understood that only the rooms at each end of the corridor did not have connecting doors. The floor layout pairs all the other rooms with double connecting doors. This means that you might share living habits with the guests on the other side of the doors.

We had a third floor end room for our first night (which worked out well) and asked to have it reserved for our return after two days elsewhere touring. On our return, desk staff had given it to other guests and assigned us the room next door. This had connecting doors. We could hear the couple talking in the next room. I knocked on their door and courteously pointed this out. Fortunately, they responded positively, and we did not have any noise problems. Moral: avoid rooms with connecting doors, unless you like sharing accommodation with strangers.
