“Hilton Garden Inn, Layton, Utah”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

This hotel is part of the Hilton Group. My husband and I were greeted warmly upon arrival. The check-in was
flawless.
Our room had lovely view of the Wasatch range and was an easy walk to the Layton Hills Mall and many restaurants. It's a short drive to Hill AFB.
The room has a very comfortable bed with so many pillows available that you will surely find one that matches your needs. There is a 10 ft ceiling, fridge, and microwave. Heating/cooling is at your control. There is a large HD TV and a wireless internet connection.
Breakfast is your choice of cooked to order or continental. The server each morning was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good-great start to our day.
There is a pool and hot tub which were very welcome when we came in from the cold. The exercise room has pretty much any equipment you will need.
We enjoyed dinner at Roosters across the parking lot to the east and lunch at MacCool's Public House across the street to the west.

Room Tip: good views on every side.

“Solid Hotel in Layton”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This is pretty much a standard issue HGI, planted close to Hill AFB in Ogden Utah. Has a very large conference center attached, which is convenient because we often have large meetings there.

I would rate this 4 stars due to its proximity to restaurants/shopping and such, but there are a couple of downsides/strategies that will help.

1. If you arrive after 5pm or so, you will never find anyone at the front desk, they like to hide, doing who knows what. Speak loudly and enjoy a cookie and they might get to you eventually.

2. request a room on the top floor, away from the night club. I have been next to or above this place on occasions and it has been rocking. Who knew Layton, UT tore it up on a week night. The rooms on the first floor have exceptionally high cielings and it echos badly. Super annoying when you are on a call.

Everything else is pretty solid HGI fare. Health facilities and pool are nice, but they close at 10pm sharp.

Room Tip: stay away from the elevators/night club area.

“They're Trying....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I stayed here a few weeks ago, and had some complaints. To their credit, Management sought me out to dig deeper, and did everything they could to make it right.

You can't ask for anything more. I'll stay again. They're an ok hotel with an ok value that's really trying to be #1. Who can ask for more?

“Nice place, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

Clean, comfortable room. Walking distance to many great restaraunts. Starbucks coffee in room was a great suprise. Only complaint: there was a 'welcome pack' with promo type sizes of toothpaste, snacks, etc. Some of the snacks were well past their "best by" date. Just FYI. I will stay here again!
