Great value...clean room and a comfortable bed. Hotel interior/decor is average and nothing to write home about. Decent continental breakfast that's pretty much in-line with the "standard" hotel chain offerings. Overall, it's a great place to stay with clean, comfortable rooms at a decent price.

Unfortunately, the Hilton at the Davis Conference Center was booked to capacity and I was bumped to the Fairfield Inn. The location is great - it is less than 1/2 mile from the Conference Center. Another plus is that there's free "continental" breakfast each morning, which consists of your pickings of cereals, milk, Activia yogurt, waffles, apples (and maybe bananas), oatmeal, coffee/juice/tea, hard boiled eggs, Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches, mini muffins, toast.

The property is older, and so my room smelled of smoke (although they are now smoke-free...you can tell they weren't always), the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and the wireless adapter that the hotel lent out didn't work. There aren't any amenities and service was average. If it was the only vacant hotel, I suppose I would stay here again (I wouldn't have a choice), but given any other option, I prefer not to to stay here again.

There was an indoor pool and a jacuzzi but it wasn't one that I would go in. There's also a vending machine for water and sodas...I used it daily for water.

The Fairfield Inn hotel in Layton was conveniently located for our visit to Antelope Island and the bath in the Salt Lake.

We appreciated the new clean and bright rooms, decent rate, good beds, great breakfast with sandwiches that could be warmed up in the microwave, a fridge in the room and the fast internet. It even has a pool, albeit small.

The staff was friendly and helped us out when the beds in the first room did not work for the four of us.

We stayed here two nights in June 2007 at the begining and end of a trip to Yellowstone (we flew in and out of SLC). This hotel worked for us! It is relatively new and is currently in the process of having rooms and common areas renovated. I believe the room we stayed in on the way back through SLC had been renovated. The bed was very comfortable. Both rooms and the hotel overall were very clean.

The breakfast area was great. It had the standard cereal, yogurt, muffins, fruit and bagels. It also had two waffle maker stations as well as sausage biscuits that could be heated up in the microwave. Both mornings we were there a hotel staff person was busily restocking food and cleaning tables.

The hotel is close to restaurants and shopping. We drove to a nearby Target but could have easily walked.

Both rooms we had were quiet, although we were on the side facing away from the highway.

It was a good choice for us and was about 30 minute drive (if that) from the SLC airport. If we ever are out that way again, would definitely stay at the Fairfield Layton again.
