“Really nice hotel, will stay there next time I'm in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Although this was not my first time in Layton this was my first time at this hotel. I usually have stayed at the hotel across the street ( I will let you guess out which one!). I decided to try the Hampton Inn since I have had good luck with this brand in other cities.

As usual, they did not disappoint me. The check in was efficient and speedy. The room was very spacious (I had the 2 bed suite with the microwave and fridge) the furnishings were tasteful and comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with towels and amenities.

The free breakfast each morning was very good. The food was well stocked and the area was clean. I only used the business center briefly, to print a boarding pass, but it also seemed well maintained.

Checkout was also efficient and since I am an Honors member I took advantage of the late checkout. This was great since I had a late afternoon flight and really didn't feel like spending the day at the airport!

I travel to the area every few months and I will definitely stay here again.

I'm glad you were able to take advantage of our spacious rooms, complimentary hot breakfast, business center, and late check out for our Hilton Honors members. We wouldn't want you spending any more time at the airport than you have to. We hope to have you as our guest again soon!

“Great Atmosphere at the Hampton in Layton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I had the opportunity to try this facility after having stayed at the Hampton in Ogden. My choice was made primarily based on the reviews from others who'd stayed at the Hampton in Layton. Overall a good experience. One minor, maybe not so minor issue kept this from being a higher rating.

My first positive impression occurred during check-in. The reception folks were very friendly and very efficient. I don't know if it's particular to this location but as opposed to the typical 'cookie' offerings; this facility offered glasses (cups) of wine which is always a nice way to greet a guest. There also appears to be a nightly 'manager's special' complimentary buffet. The evening that I arrived they had Swedish or BBQ'd meatballs and the area was filled with revelry and laughter. The receptionists participated and added to the joyous and dare I say 'homey' atmosphere. I ate the meal the next night, chilli and baked potatoes, the food was very good.

The facility appears to be an older establishment, at least compared to the Hampton in Ogden or SLC (airport). That came across in the room furnishings. The room was ok, not good or great. The worktable in the room was small so some upgrades appear to be in order. Nevertheless I enjoyed two great nights sleep and even though I was near the stairwell could not detect any noises that kept me awake.

I mentioned the odor below in the suggestions to other travelers. Unfortunately my second night at the establishment, during the dinner buffet, I detected an unpleasant odor. It smelled, well bad, and I couldn't determine if it was from the plumbing, the kitchen or the pool. I will only say that during my next stay, I will not accept a room on that end of the facility.

I do highly recommend the hotel to other travelers due to it's location, service and atmosphere.

Room Tip: I would suggest a room on the side of the hotel opposite the pool and breakfast area. At one point d...

“Best Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This hotel is Great and the Staff is what makes my experience the best! I have stayed here for several years and I keep coming back because the staff is so great! The rooms are great too! The beds are warm and comfy, the breakfast is different each day and the manager's snacks in the evening Monday through Thursday are a plus! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a short stay or an extended stay! It is convenient to shopping and eating establishments.

“Genuinely accommodating, would stay there again.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Liked the fireplace in the lobby and the service was immediate.

Room was spacious, shower was hot and had reasonable water pressure, beds were comfortable. Pool/hot tub area was kept clean and chlorine was at decent level. Breakfast was good, parking free, internet free and fast enough.

Surrounded by shopping and dining. Recommend it!
