We checked in Sunday evening July 3rd on our Independence Day holiday to find one of the worst hotels ever! The horrible stench of cheap perfumed air freshener hits you at the hall entry door. The room was even WORSE! It knocked you over. IMPOSSIBLE situation for anyone with allergies to perfume or environmental toxins. You could NOT stay there without becoming ill it was THAT BAD! To top it off, there was NO toilet paper in the bathroom and there were a pile of dirty pillows stacked up at the end of bed without any pillow case covers on them. There was an old laundry basket laying on the floor and the furniture was terribly old, outdated. It was very obvious that the hotel staff were attempting to mask a nastier odor with their putrid air spray that could have killed a cat. To make things worse, when we called the front desk to inform them of the problem and let them know we would in no way be able to stay there without going to the emergency room, the desk clerk could not have cared less and didn't bother calling us back. When we went to the lobby to get them to find us another room, they couldn't even be bothered to APOLOGIZE for our distress and inconvenience. We had driven 300 miles that day and were tired and just wanted to relax and enjoy the evening, but that was ruined as we had to go find another room at another hotel on a holiday weekend. I never would have believed that Marriott properties could decline to this level - SHAME on YOU!
