On our way to Lake Powell, we stayed one night at this Shilo Inn. Check-in was slow. There was only one employee at the front desk. The computer equipment she was using looked to be vintage 1985. The old dot matrix printer was having trouble. So the extremely slow check-in started us off on the wrong foot.
The CONS - The toilet in our room had a leak so it would run about every 10 minutes to fill the tank. That was annoying while trying to fall asleep because it wasn't quiet. Also not quiet were the people above us. The ceiling seemed thin because of the active people above us. The AC didn't work below 70 degrees. It would freeze up and not come on again for a long time. The hot tub didn't have strong jets so it wouldn't really create bubbles.
The PROS - The staff were friendly and prompt to address any concerns we had. The bed was decent... nothing special. Free and fast wireless internet was very nice. And the free breakfast was pretty good. Love the biscuits and gravy.
Even though my review seems pretty negative, this is still not a bad place to stay. Maybe a different room would have been a whole different experience. I like Kanab. It's a nice place for small-town southern Utah. We ate at Nedra's. Good Mexican food there. I recommend it.
