“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Very friendly check-in person, very nice breakfast; our room was very clean and quite spacious. Good location. Some attention needs to be paid to downstairs hallways - in need of paint. Tables and a laundry basket were in the downstairs hallway - not pretty. Less noise on the side away from the highway,as well as great views, but overall very quiet. The downside to this hotel is that they get a lot of bus tours, but I met some very nice people at breakfast. They also have no elevator which could be problematic. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I would stay there again

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the mountains

“Just OK”

Room was large and clean but somehow disappointing.Overall feel of place was a bit shabby. Fellow at front desk was very nice at check-in. Noise in hallway was very noticeable and I could faintly hear the guy snoring in the next room. Phone in room didn't work. Had to negotiate stairs to use laundry and access room from main lobby and parking lot as no elevator. Breakfast buffet was acceptable but located in a fairly compact area making it hard to negotiate with all of the tour bus people. We wanted to sit outside by the (very little) pool but had to clean off the table first. Looked like maybe the table hadn't been wiped off that day (or maybe even the day before or before that). Price was a bit high for what we got and in hind sight wish we had looked a little further before committing to the room. I wouldn't really say the place rated a poor but maybe a little bit low on the average end of the rating. Don't think we would choose to stay here again if we could find something a little nicer and maybe better priced.

“5000 mile Roadtrip Stop 10”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Exterior: Two storey block on edge of town, nice view of bluffs at rear.
Reception; Friendly and efficient, but no chance of room on lower floor.
Ease of access: Not good, no elevator in a newish building, ramp to 1st level then stairs to 2nd level.
Room: Good size with a decent view, stains on chair seat and carpet but otherwise clean. Drawer unit damaged and upper drawer only opened halfway.
Breakfast: Reasonable choice but running out of stock on Monday, weekend rush perhaps.
Tips: Bit out of town with no nearby restaurants. Houston Trails End in Kanab was good with friendly staff and decent menu choices.
Mentions: Minor security issue with back door to property having broken lock and door banging as people left from 6-30am onwards. Water pressure caused shower to make singing noise above 3/4 on. Water temperature fluctuated on shower and was cool, at best, in mornings after 7am.

“If you must stay in Kanab, stay at the Holiday Inn Express”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011 via mobile

Due to the Holiday Inn Express down the road being sold out, I was forced to stay here tonight. I tried not being pessimistic and was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but sadly I was not. The room I booked with one king wasn't available when I checked in, only a room with two queens. Apparently tour buses come through this town and take up every room around. Makes working on a project here really annoying. The room is "horrible" by some people's standards but here's the breakdown: the tv is a small old 19" tube. There are 28 channels, and many of the ones I like to watch are not available. I'm watching ABC right now and while I didn't expect HD quality, even the analog broadcast has signal rolls going through it and the bottom is distorted. I've already disconnected and reconnected the coax cable twice to no avail. The beds have those old style comforters, something that worries me because they are probably not cleaned very often. The vanity is old and low height. The furniture overall is looking pretty tired. Oh and there's no elevator, at least not one that I could find. Gotta love lugging furniture up and down stairs. On the positive side, the AC works, there's a mini fridge with microwave and the wifi is free. For $120/night I guess I just expect a lot better. Checking out tomorrow and going back to Holiday Inn Express (will be reviewing that also).

“There are better places to go to in town!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

After our trip, we found out you can actually rent homes for your stays in Kanab! We were here for the Best Friends Santuary Volunteering - so that's just a heads up for many.

We (us 3 girls) stayed at the Comfort Inn.

It was old, our ceiling was leaking and I felt itchy just sitting on the bed.

I guess for a small town hotel you can't expect much, but the service when we arrived was not great, but thankfully the service when we checked out was better!

One good thing was the hot tub was functional and the morning breakfast was quite impressive! So that made up for everything else crappy.

ALSO, when you flushed the toilet, the whole bathroom smelt... blech!!!!

Location wise.. well anything in Kanab is close, but this hotel is the furthest away I think from the 'town' centre. The Holiday Inn looks like it'd be a better choice!
