“NEVER EVER AGAIN”

We took a trip to Zion last Thanksgiving. To save the $$ I booked this motel, where we stayed with kids 3 years ago.At that time it was pretty good,we hoped for the same experience.NO.
The door lock was barely holding the door, which was shaking with every person walking down the corridor; the security bolt broken. The heater was incredibly loud. The curtains and chairs dirty. The faucet was dripping water( it's very annoying at night). The toilet was clogged second evening, luckily the front desk girl gave my husband a plunger , with the help of which he solved the problem( at least temporarily). I was afraid to touch anything, everything looked so filthy. The pool didn't look appealing, especially the towels.I couldn't sleep there & was happy to get out of there.
The only good thing about it was the price-$40 hard to beat.
But I'd rather pay more, but stay in a nice clean place next time.
I want to thank all the people who write reviews for this site, thanks to them, I usually find best hotels, restaurants, etc.( my fault this time- didn't read the reviews, relied on our first experience).
If only I looked at the chart !
The math is simple: are you picky or not, if 23 people find it "terrible & poor", only 12 "good" with 10 in between- you decide.I'd rather camp.

“great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

i have no idea why others had such negative things to say about this motel. i had an excellent experience here. checkin took less than a minute as did checkout.
i reserved a room on the web for $35 a night- excellent value compared to similar lodging at zion nztional park and springdale were you'd pay over $100 for a similar room.
the room was very clean and comfortable. there was a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and coffee, cable tv with 70 some channels, nice amenities.
there was a nice indoor pool, laundry, free wifi and free use of a computer in the lobby and free usa newspaper everyday, free local calls.
breakfast was good- cold cereal, oatmeal toast or english muffins, coffee and juices. and it was available at 6:30 a.m.- very convenient for early risers.
the bed was king size and very comfortable. there was some traffic noise from the highway but not a problem.
i thought it was a great value and probably better than other lodging in town like rodeway and travelodge.

“Not Good....”

Stayed in this hotel for the St.George Marathon, and wouldn't go back. Even took pictures to send to the Days Inn HQ for proof this place isn't holding up to the Days Inn standard. Just a quick list of the problems we had....
1. Sheets on bed aren't fitted, so they kept sliding off.
2. Beds were never vacuumed underneath, nothing too bad underneath, but some advil tablets, bread twisties and torn tissue paper.
3. Door didn't closer properly so sound from hall was bad, luckily although the hotel was full, few people were poking around late at night.
4. Furniture was broke, again not functionally broken, but broken wood on several pieces.
5. My 4 yr old caught a lizard in our room, which was actually kind of fun...but....come on.
6. Rarely an attendant at desk.
7. Shower curtain rail was broken so it drooped down.
8. TV and microwave not secured, so watch out little kids that pull on stuff.
9. Dead roach in front of ice machine on first floor just laid there for more than a day, was there when we left.

The good...hot water, no smell, clean toilet, clean tub, orange juice and coffee.

“Great value for the money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

There are alot of negative reviews on here, but I booked for less than $50, so I was very pleased with the value we received. We traveled with a family of 5, so the separate sink/mirror from the toilet/shower worked great! One could be in the shower, while another was using the sink. The room was very large, clean, & even had a microwave/refridgerator in the room. Also had blow dryer & coffee maker. The breakfast was adequate for the price.....my kids love waffles, although it would be nice if the hotel would add another machine, as there was quite a wait for the waffle maker. Also a basket of fresh fruit would be beneficial. We also were looking forward to the pool/hot tub after 10 days of camping, but it closed at 10 pm (when we arrived). 11 pm closure would be another suggestion. Overall, a great value compared to the more than double priced hotels in Springdale (we were visiting Zion Nat'l Park). We were able to get out early the next morning & arrive at the campground in time to snag a first-come/first-served site. Only took 30 minutes to get to Zion. I would definitely stay there again!

I'd sleep in my car before I'd stay here again. Not even worth the $59.00 rate. It is dirty, you can't even call that a breakfast, stall frosted flakes and a waffle iron. The guy that checked us in was so rude, and acted bothered that we were checking in. The walls are paper thin. Stayed on the way to the Grand Canyon, we should have kept driving.
