“Wi-Fi Yes, Good No”

Not a B&B nor an Inn. Just an old drabby motel on the main street in town. They don't even have a continental breakfast. On check-in I asked about Wi-Fi and the clerk ignored my request, racing past me to speak to another guest. They did have Internet which is about the only positive I can say about this place. Our room's floor was uneven and seemed to be rotting. Next to our room was a line of cars for the drive-through stand next door. The room was warm and we kept the A/C fan on all night, which blocked the outside sounds but never really cooled the room. We were happy to leave the next morning.

“Nice Old-School Motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

We really liked this place. Very charming little motel. We stayed here while we were hanging out in Park City (only a 15 minute drive). It had everything we needed and wanted. We will definitely stay again if the need arises.

“Comfortable inexpensive stay, minimum frills”

- Room is average, not large.
- Bed was firm and comfortable (king size)
- Refrigerator and microwave in the room.
- No breakfast is offered, one will need to bring one's own or find a breakfast place in town. We found a good bakery that provided what we wanted in town.
- Check-in was quick and friendly.

Room Tip: If noise sensitive, ask for room away from street.

“Unexpected value and comfort, nice, clean, friendly place”

I was returning to California from Colorado on 24 November. A major ice and snow storm stopped us in this small Utah town. Looked for a motel and found this GEM.
The rooms were large, spotless clean, updated and little touches of extra thought here and there. The pride of ownership showed everywhere you looked, parking and all the walks were cleared of ice and snow all the way to the restaurant next door.
We were stuck in town due to weather and it would have been easy to bump the rate charge up, but they were more than reasonable for the quality and size of the rooms.
Last and I value this more than any thing else durring the stay. When it looked like the weather was going to keep us from getting home for Thanksgiving, we were invited to Thanksgiving dinner.
WOW. who does that sound like offering to feed a couple of strangers ?.

“Yodel-ay-dee-WHO?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2010

This is an older motel that has been well-maintained and lovingly accented. Charming on the outside: retro on the inside. Each of the 26 rooms at the Swiss Alps Motel has the name and official seal of one of the 26 cantons (states) of Switzerland affixed to its exterior door. Even the word "wilkommen" (welcome) was painted on a wallboard in my room (#24 Uri). Other in-room room amenities included two large double beds, microwave, refrigerator and large TV. Outside, there was an inviting swimming pool.

The Swiss Alps is smack in downtown Heber City, within walking distance of fast food, fine dining, live-music bistros, as well as the post office, banks and service stations. Not to me missed is the quirky railroad-themed burgers-and-ice-cream place next door. (The pavement of the drive-thru is even painted as railroad trackage!)

Here's a chance to break out of the same old-same old hotel chain tyranny and save money in the process. It's a high value/high entertainment choice.
