One preliminary remark: I generally love classic motels with the parking lot for your car right in front of your room and those big neon signs and the 50s/60s style layout of the rooms and everything... So a place like this one always has a bonus with me and always prefer to stay in one that is along the road instead of ending up in one of those always-the-same hotels/motels of the big chains.
And while a lot of people here seem to not have enjoyed their stay there, I definitely did, when I stayed there this summer (June 2011). The place looks great from the outside with that orange paint, the cafe building at the start and that long stretch of rooms behind it. And the motel neon sign is really rather a piece of art to me, than just a sign. Also the rooms are big and were very clean. Sheryl, the (new) owner seems to have brought a breath of fresh air to that place.
So if you are also into that traditional motel style with your car parking right in front of your room and with that huge neon sign in the night, give the place a chance if you are in the area ;-).
It's quite close to Bryce Canyon and from my point of view a very friendly place to stay with great value for money.
