“Lovely little B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

This was the first time when we stayed at a B&B and we truly loved it! Rochelle and Mike, the owners, were very friendly and helpful giving us directions and tips about the near sights.
The room although small, was cozy and clean, with rustic decorations. The bathroom had the basic toiletries. I particularly loved the tiny sink, it's original from the 1920's. The rooms have poor insulation and you could hear the neighbors talking but it didn't bother us as there was only one another couple staying at that time.
Every morning the hosts prepared great home made breakfast, but I wish we could have had some more. For dinners, there is a great country style restaurant, The Buffalo Bistro, right next door. The food there is just incredible!
Overall, great hotel, close to Bryce, Zion and Hoodoos.

Room Tip: Room 5 has large windows and a big tree outside. You wake up with birds singing at your window...

“One of the best experiences for us”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I have been to a few B&Bs. This place is no exceptions. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

While the room is small and not well equipped, it is clean and convenient. Most rooms are quite small and able to accommodate one or two persons. Ours is bigger (not big) and has a bunk bed. The building shows its age. That is why there are noise when you walk in the building and open doors. But we like the style and way around. BTW, some B$B are not kid friendly.

Glendale is a tiny town and this is the only game in town if you want to stay here. No grocery stores. The town is strategically located between Zion and Bryce, which is why we stayed. It is not too far away from Grand Canyon North Rim. We have also heard good things about the nearby restaurant.

Best of all is the hearty breakfast. Very nicely done. And not too heavy or salty! It is a rarity for breakfast in the U.S. Perhaps this is due to the large number of international travelers.

Room Tip: Make a reservation in the high season.

“Quaint; great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Not sure why a review I wrote for this place in 2009 hasn't appeared, and I am not able to choose a date older than Dec 2010.

The location is pretty nice - very close to Bryce, not as close to Zion but there isn't any hotel any closer to Zion. The owner Mike is great - we love all the owner-tended B&B, because even though it doesn't guarantee standardized service, it makes you feel special. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, and so are the bathrooms outside. Considering how old the property is, a modern or fresh look cannot be expected. Breakfasts were homey and sizable, and it comes with the long conversation that people of that age and type like to have with guests.

We had planned to arrive before 9 pm, which is when they request that you check in by, but like any traveller know we ran about an hour late. Mike had no problem with it.

On the same trip, we stayed at another B&B very close to this one - fancy decor and a very "British tea" sort of dining room that had waiters in frilly aprons. Can pick one item each out of one section each, not a crumb more, no substitutions and I don't care if you're vegetarian, extra items at additional astronomical cost, etc etc. Would gladly give up an antique dresser that travelers never use for generous and sociable hosts.

“Loved it!!!”

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast and Our stay at the Smith was very good. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to staying there again. The owners- Mike and Rochelle are very friendly and look to make your stay comfortable. The room was very clean and nice and the farms are very good too. We have a six year old, whom they gladly accommodated. The farms have apple, pear trees which my daughter loved. They have horses too and there were lots of humming birds around. The breakfast was very very good.
They recommended the Buffalo bistro for other meals, which is right next door. The food there is amazing. I had their veg pasta, which was superb. The peach cobbler was good too. Both the places are an experience....

“Enjoyed our stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

We stayed at Smith B&B the night after our Zion Park visit. A great stopping point either on the way to, or away from Zion. This was our first-ever stay at a BB, so we knew generally what to expect from reading about BB's. Rochelle & Mike were very cordial and attentive. We ate at the Buffalo Bistro next door - a good choice. Breakfast was very, very, very good! Upon departure, Mike asked everyone where they were travelling to. He suggested scenic by-ways that would have been otherwise missed opportunities. (Thanks Mike).

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the backside of the house vs the front which faces the highway
