“Busy, good facilities, good location.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

We stayed here labor day weekend so it was very busy. The campground has some good facilities - pool, minigolf, bikes, tractor rides, but we only used the bathrooms as we went out on the lake all day. The campfires are a nice touch and the store has everything you could ever need and more. The only negative would be that it is quite noisy, there are signs saying that quiet hours are from 11pm-7am but people don't seem to take notice. I bought earplugs from the campground store to ensure a restful night.

“Never been let down!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

This is the 3rd year in a row that we have returned to Bear Lake and we won't stay anywhere else! From the staff that all treat you like family while you're there...down to the great stores and quiet campground they provide, it's all a great experience.

The only downfall this year was that the jumping pillow had ripped just a few days before we arrived and it would be closed for the rest of the season. That being no ones fault, it was another successful trip. They provided plenty of alternate activities for children of all ages to make up for that. The pool is always a big hit with the kids, the train and tractor rides never seem to disappoint either! Aside from a few people that think it's okay to let their dogs bark, we have never had any trouble there. The staff is usually on top of that anyway. Any loud noises, usually get shut down before anybody has to complain. Most people understand the rules and policies and follow them. There is ample room to park your vehicles, plenty of shade and nice grass in each spot. Anything that you may have forgotten will be found at either of the two stores that are on site. The bike rental shop and snow cone hut are fun as well! I have used the laundry also and my only recommendation there would be to put in a coin machine so that you don't have to go into the store to get quarters. Otherwise there are plenty of washers and dryers and the hours are great.

We like that it's very close to town and the beach. Due to all the high water that almost everyone in the mountains received this year, there was not as much beach as in years past. So we checked out two new beaches to us and had just as much fun! The town of Garden City is awesome. A cute and small town with plenty to do, plenty of places to eat and shop. They've even added a go-cart race track near the campground that we enjoyed with our two kids one afternoon.

Overall, we love this campground and everything that comes with it! Some people think it's a little pricey but for how close you are to everything and for what is provided, it's worth it to us!

“DO NOT PUT ONE STEP ON BEAR LAKE KOA CAMPGROUND (GARDEN CITY,UT)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2010

My wife and I and another family who is friends of ours arrived at KOA campground in Bear Lake around 1 a.m. on July 27th 2010. The office was completely unattended and there were no registration forms or pricing in sight. We drove in and wandered around to find a spot. We ended up parking our CARS in a "camper" zone (w/hookups). Very rough terrain and broken glass in some parts.
Overall we were just happy to get out of the car.

We started a fire and simply sat next to it chatting for the rest of the night. Around 4 a.m. a guy in a yellow shirt(Apparently from KOA) came yelling to us and threatening that he was going to call the cops if we didn't go to bed in 3 minutes!!! (We are all adults by the way) He then said he wanted us out by 7a.m. that morning. The dimwit then hosed down our fire and left.
No sign of him in the morning to file a formal complaint.

We then were charged $47 for not knowing where to park regular vehicles. We never used any of the facilities.

This has been the WORST night @ a campground I've ever had in 20 years!!!

“We enjoyed our stay at this KOA”

We stayed in a Cabin at the Bear Lake KOA and were quite happy with our stay.
We found the Cabin and the Bathrooms to be Super clean and the staff to be friendly and helpful. We actually killed our car battery the morning we were leaving and the staff was very helpful in getting us going again.
My only complaints would be that the pool could have used a cleaning (however, it was very early in the season and there had been a lot of rain and wind recently so this could be easily overlooked) and the fact that we had to Pay to use the Jump Pillow. I have not encountered that at other KOAs.
Oh and the "free Wi Fi" did not work.
It also felt a bit less secure than other KOAs - we were able to drive through without any notice before checking in, but the area is very quiet and seemed very safe so that was probably fine.

Overall we found it to be a pleasant little spot to spend a few days relaxing in the middle of our trip.

“Could anything else go wrong???”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2009

From the moment we arrived, things started going wrong. Our reservation was messed up and we didn't get the cabin we had reserved. So, after letting them know there was no hot tub in our backyard (we were not aware of this until we had moved all of our stuff into the cabin), we moved all of our things to the cabin next door. After making the bed and unpacking, we realized that the electricity (meaning no fridge or microwave or lights or heater) worked on one side of the cabin. So, we called the manager and he came to work on it. After another hour-and-a-half, he determined that things were not going to get fixed until Monday (it was Sat.) so we should probably move back into the first cabin we were in and just walk over to the backyard of this "faulty" cabin to use the hot tub. While he was working on things, we found several large sized bugs in the cabin, and I walked outside to see the hot tub and lifted the cover and got such a horrible, burning sensation in my lungs and nose when I lifted it, that I couldn't breathe properly for 20 minutes. So, we moved back to the first cabin, and found that for the remainder of the trip we had no hot water, no wireless internet as promised and two pesky, annoying dogs in the yard right behind us that bark incessantly throughout the morning from about 6-11 am. The only redeeming part was that the manager credited a large portion of our bill back to us, but I wouldn't have stayed there for free if I would've known the hassles ahead of us. Boo on KOA. Never again.
