“Nice Executive Homes in a Nice Neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2008

I am very skeptical of non-chain resorts or b and b's. Typically they will look very nice but then have terrible beds and service. This place was fantastic. The photos on the Wolf Creek Resort website are a pretty good match to reality. Staying at a place like this was very different than the typical ski trip that I take.
I stayed in unit TR11 which is a five bedroom home with a two car garage. This is a development that would be typically classified as an Executive Home development that you may find in most suburbs but it is out in Eden, Utah. This is not ski in or ski out. A car is mandatory. There is some sort of bus service to Powder Mountain but only out in the AM and back in the PM as well as I could tell. Snowbasin is a real fourteen mile drive but Powder Mountain is a very easy four mile drive. We did not ski Wolf Mountain but I drove to it and it is a gem. On paper Wolf Mountain seemed too small to consider but after going there I regret not going for a few turns. This would be the best place by far for green skiers.
We arrived about 10:30 PM. They had e mailed us a code that unlocked a realtor type lock box near the front door that had the key in it.
This part of Utah is extremely friendly. Sometimes things can get tense at the bigger resorts to the south. Wolf Creek Resorts has a "Concierge Desk". I do not use concierge services in general but this desk was really great. They sell discount lift tickets to all the resorts and give great advice on things to do. This was our first stop everyday. They also had a lecture or something each night. We never had the energy to go but they seemed worthwhile.
The house was very large and had great beds. I am picky but they had Serta Perfect Sleeper beds with bedsprings. The bunk beds just had mattresses. The kitchen was well appointed. All of the baths were nice. Washing machine and dryer worked. We parked inside since it snowed everyday and that way we did not have to brush off the car. Also they do plow the streets and driveways.
The Valley Market is a grocery store nearby that is very nice. It is at an intersection that is known to everyone so directions are usually given in relation to it. It is also open to 10 most nights and should have everything you need. It has a pharmacy and the food prices were not inflated. We rented good skis at Diamond Peak near Valley Market. We got good pizza one night from Tracks at the resort. Harley and Bucks is a great restauarant close to Valley Mart. Call ahead for reservations or you will be stuck with carryout like we were.
In summary, this is a unique ski experience. For a lot less money you can stay in a massive house with a two car garage. But you are also not within walking distance of any shops, etc. This resort is very well run and professional. I think that it would be nice to alternate this sort of secluded experience with a ski-in ski-out experience.
Also staying here and driving the mile or two to Wolf Mountain would be great for green skiers.

“What a lovely stay!”

As always at Worldmark resorts, the stay was comfortable and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Eden is beautiful, very quiet and relaxing. The unit was spacious and very clean. The view was gorgeous. This resort was also typical of the average Worldmark, in that the decor is dated and certainly not the fanciest, also wish there was a larger bath. However, the dependability of the staff, the location, cleanliness and well-appointed kitchen make up for those things you find at classier (and snootier) joints. I also enjoyed the fireplace and gym (though small). Its great for families.

Also, if you go to Eden, we highly recommend driving over to Huntsville to the Yukon Grille. What a find! We accidentally found this lovely, warm restaurant. The food is great, the owner is friendly and used to be head chef and gen manager for many years at a Park City restaurant. Ogden Valley is lucky to have such a treasure. And our daughter really enjoyed the amazing park across the street, which is nice or nicer than any play area we have in SLC. We also recommend a visit to the monastery.

  • Liked — friendly staff, the view/location, comfort
  • Disliked — decor, no jacuzzi tub
  • Tips/Secrets — eat at Yukon Grille, visit monastery, take kids to Ogden Treehouse Museum

“Stay Elsewhere”

No one was available to check us in so to our surprize our keys were left in a box outside the office. The maintenance man told us where our keys were and it was up to us to find our building, which by the way are not numbered in order.

The parking lot was a hazzard to drive in and forget trying to park. We had to walk over a snowbank to get to the sidewalk which was never cleared during our entire stay. We had to walk through thick slush and several inches of snow to get from our car to our condo, or anywhere on the grounds for that matter.

Our condo was nice and seemed to be clean....until we turned down the beds to find stained sheets and damaged bedding. There was no one at the office to help us so we used some pillows and blankets from our car.

There were no signs posted waring us of the high levels of bleach in the hot tub and our suits were ruined so completely that they will never be worn again. There was no one available to answer us as the office was once again empty.

The office was still closed when we checked out the following day. DO NOT stay here but go to Moose Hollow Condos across the street where they're brand new and very luxurious.

From reading your comment, it looks as though you may have stayed with a different company other than Valley Lodging @ Wolf Creek Resort. Valley Lodging @ Wolf Creek Resort is the only lodging company owned by Wolf Creek Resort and one of many lodging companies located within Wolf Creek Resort. All of which have different check in processes. In the condo complex that this comment refers to, there are 2 seperate companies who act as an agent to rent out condos. Here at Valley Lodging, we contact every guest at least 1 week before they arrive and make sure that they have directions to their property and let them know of the check in process. We also make them aware of our after hours on call service that they may utilize in the event that they do get lost or can't find their condo. We are very sorry about your swimming suits becoming discolored. Our company tries to ensure that all chemicals are regulated correctly. These hot tubs are checked regularly by OSHA and have never had an offense. We are sorry you could not get a hold of the company that you booked through to fix this matter. Our office is located approximately 1 block up the hill from Wolf Lodge and is very convenient for our guests to drop in with any needs that they may have during their stay and also to purchase their discount ski passes to both Powder Mountain and Snow Basin Resorts. Please come back to Wolf Creek Resort and we wil try our best to ensure a great stay!

“What a great place!!”

This was one of the best places I've stayed at! The people were friendly and it was close to skiiing/snowboarding (Down the mountain). Located in a nice quiet and beautiful town just a few minutes from Ogden (You may know this town as 'Everwood' from the hit TV show). Also no more than an hour away from Salt Lake City as well! The rooms were great, clean and specious! We had a two bedroom unit with a full kitchen, laundry, and fireplace! We could just relax right there in our little townhouse-like unit! You can also check it out at:

Hope you have fun there!
