“A real skiers Lodge in an incredible setting”

When we are on a ski trip (or any other outdoor-play trip) usually the room is just a place to sleep; we're too busy skiing to worry about much else. The Red Moose exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful little lodge in an unreal location. I've skied around the west and was blown away by Powder Mtn. and Snowbasin. They have amazing terrain, snow and really feel off the beaten path. The lodge was a bonus: nice, large, clean rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff. I'd love to come back in the summer and check out the lake and mountain biking. I have told all of my Colorado ski friends about this place!

“Romantic getaway”

This was the best hotel ever. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was both elegant and charming. The staff was friendly and helpful, it was a real bargain.

all in all our experience was not all bad. the staff was very helpful , informative & nice. rooms were clean, lighting was very bad. very dark in rooms some lights were out so that created it to be even darker than normal. jetted tubs did not work and when reported to front desk they did not offer to get it fixed or to give us a discount on our room. was very glad we did not bring our children as not alot for them today as they are teenagers. continental breakfast was very bad. only offered : cold cereal, milk, juice and very dry mini muffins. i realize they were not going to serve something hot but, fresh fruit and toast would have been very nice. one thing i loved was the landscaping and how quiet it was over all.

“Fun family gathering place, though a bit overpriced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2009

We've been here twice for family reunions, and have recommended it to others for the same purpose. It's a great place to let kids run around while still being able to keep an eye on them. The setting in the countryside is very lovely and peaceful. They have a small, simple but nice outdoor pool, hot tub, log cabin play structure and a big lawn for games, picnics, and the like. I also love the decor--faux-rustic wood furniture, nice Art Deco travel posters, a cozy lobby with fireplace and pool room in a loft above. Rooms are spacious, with TV, wi-fi, fridge and coffeepot and similar amenities.

That said, this is really a cheap motel under a thin veneer of luxury. The walls are paper-thin and noise from hallway and other rooms is a problem. Breakfast is scanty--basically just cold cereal and cheap pastries. I doubt the hotel provides any extra niceties to guests--there's a vending machine down the hall that sells things like aspirin and toothbrushes along with the usual snacks. I needed to print out some airplane boarding passes before leaving, and the front desk couldn't offer me a printer--although they did send me across the street to a pizza place, where the employees let me use their computer.

So--while I'm not complaining, I think the Red Moose Lodge could do a bit more to bolster its image, considering the prices.

My sons and I stayed here doing some spring skiing at Powder Mountain. I liked it. It is simple, clean, had wi-fi, tv and a big bathroom. It has a nice vibe.
