This is not the old Super 8. Several times in recent years we have used this motel going and coming from ski trips in CO. It had not been pleasant and we were about to give it up. Two times in December 2011 we tried one more time because of the convenient location. It is under new management; the appearance is now bright and clean; they’ve added a continental breakfast, and the service was cheerful, good, and on target. I talked with no one who was pleased with past experiences, but that is not longer the case. If this management continues its current practice, it deserves a lot more patrons.

The Blanding Super 8 Motel was a welcome sight when we pulled in to Blanding after dark. It was not crowded at this time of year (mid-November), and the front desk person acted very happy to see some customers. We had a nice room, very clean, with a good king-sized bed, fridge, and micro. The only reservation I have is that we had a room with a "lock-off" door, which led into the adjoining room. This did not provide enough of a noise barrier, and we could easily hear the television from the next room. Luckily, they went to bed about the same time we did!
The breakfast room was tidy, and the choices for their continental breakfast were healthy and filling.

Super 8 Motels are usually not my first choice of accommodation. Nevertheless, this motel was a welcomed relief to the rather bland scenery and depressing reality of spending an evening in Blanding, Utah. I suppose it could have been worse. It can always get worse. My thanks to Super 8 for providing a small degree of comfort and insulation in a town that deserves to be vacated.

The Blanding Super 8 is very conveniently located for travelers moving between, say, Canyonlands or archer and Monument Valley, The Grand Canyon - and Natural Bridges is nearby. The small town of Blanding looks very pleasant, and the Super 8 is right on the highway as you pass through. Since this is not an extremely heavy-traffic route, it's quiet at night. The rooms are Standard Super 8 - roomy, clean, free in-room wi-fi, fridge, the works. The staff is friendly. The breakfast room is really small, so don't go there at 'breakfast rush hour', and the choices is somewhat limited to unhealthy (i.e. high sugar) stuff. There's a supermarket and a store acrtoss the road, and there's a restaurant next door to the Super 8 (forgot the name). They have a nice variety of dishes, and the food is okay, but they serve no alcohol. My husband was no happy he had to forgo his beloved dinner beer. We spent a comfortable and quiet night at the Super 8 and would stay there again should we find ourselves in need of a room for the night in that area
