Never stayed here before; looked nice on the outside and no reasonwhy it shouldn't have been a great stay. When I I checked in, though, I noticed a haf-drank-up water bottle on the nightstand ... threw it away and went out for an appointment I had. Got back late and went to sleep but the sheets didn't seem clean and fresh. Oh well. Next morning: went into the bathroom and saw previous guests' dirty soap and half-empty shampoo bottles in the tub. So ... it appears I was sold this room with a "cleaning job" that probably left the sheets slept on by others, previous guests' water bottle and *definitely* dirty tub. GROSS!!! From now on I will be compulsively checking *everything* in hotel rooms - I have stayed in lots of hotels andf never had this happen!

Every time we go to The Valley, we stay at this hotel. Primarily, for convenience and I've never stayed in any other hotel. The location is perfect and the rooms are clean. The staff is mediocre. They always look somber and upset. They definitely don't greet with a smile.

Their continental breakfast is good. They have a waffle maker, cereal, muffins, sausage and biscuits, and juice. Make sure you look at the expiration dates on their milk cartons. I didn't realize this until I started drinking mine...it tasted horrible. I found out that mine expired a week before (eesh!).

Aside from this, I would recommend this hotel, based on the primary purpose to use the room for sleep only. The room was very adequate and the beds were very comfortable. If you, however, want a "welcome" from the staff, then go elsewhere. You won't get it here!

We spent 5 nights at the Fairfield Inn and while our room was clean and well decorated it took forever for hot water to reach the room located at the very end of the hall. The internet connection was sooooo sloooow; it almost seemed to be operating on dial up speed. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was limited as the waffle maker died the first day of our stay and not replaced. The breakfast area was VERY loud due to a group of unruly "missionaries" from Tenn. who were unaware they were in a public area. Cable stations are limited; don't expect to have any business news available.

I stay at this Fairfield frequently. In fact, I'm here now with my family; only now it's for pleasure and not business. I've always found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. In comparison to the Holiday Inn Express and the Best Western, I think this is by far the better hotel in Weslaco.

I admit to being a bit of a Marriott snob. It's nice to know what to expect in a hotel before you walk in the door. The staff at this hotel is not unaware of Marriott standards.

The downside to the hotel would probably be the wi-fi signal. It's not very strong and it seems weakest on the third floor. I remedy that by requesting a second floor room when I travel on business. The breakfast choices are a bit limited too - it seems to be on of the smaller breakfast bars of any Fairfield I've stayed at. Certainly, the Holiday Inn Express has a better and expanded bar now. But I'll gladly give up the big breakfast for a better quality room any time.
