Our car broke down in Victoria over Memorial Day weekend. Monday night we stayed at Holiday Inn Express. They have been very courteous since we got here. After our check-out time on Tuesday they let us hang out in their breakfast lounge all day. Every 30 minutes a staff member checked up on us and asked if we needed anything, brought us snacks, etc. The guy that checked us in the night before came by and checked up on us as well. He wasn't even working at the time. Talk about customer service! A housekeeper also offered to help me carry some of my things downstairs. Besides the amazing staff they have classy decor, comfy beds and they keep the place very clean! I'm so glad we stayed here! Highly recommend!!

If you to stay in Victoria, this is your hotel, we choose it because many reviews talk about the beds, let me tell you is all true, those tempur-pedic beds are something unique, the hotel is 2 years old so is in very good shape, no smelly rooms, very very clean, service is outstanding you will feel at home, the even have cookies in the front desk just in case (and we arrive at 8 pm), they serve free breakfast, its very decent (eggs, juice, coffee, bread, etc) CAUTION: the address in the GPS units are wrong, the guy in the front desk explain that to us, because we had to call to find it (it shows the OLD location), so please call first, ask for the address and how to arrive (my Tom Tom couldn't find the street).. did i mention the wonderful beds??

I stayed here in late Feb 2011 for business south of town. It's located about 7 minutes from the tiny airport that only flies Continental to Houston and back 3 or 4 times a day. The Hampton Inn is a block away. Its also only a few blocks from the mall on the north side. Industrial facilities with ports on the river are about 20 minutes south, like Invista where I was working. The hotel is very clean. Rooms, breakfast area, lobby all look lovely and are moped and cleaned daily. Breakfast was particularly good, nothing watered down and all items plentiful. Wifi connection was good, lots of band width, but that might be because the hotel appeared half full. I found fresh cookies across from the front desk every evening. I enjoyed my talks with the night desk manager. He is a foodie, and we talked about the local restaurants and the lack of a good Indian restaurant in town. I ate with customers at the Greek Brothers restaurant a few blocks south on the left, and it is highly recommended (maybe 5 blocks down?). I think the pool was closed for service while I was there, which would not normally be an issue in Feb, but it hit 81F one afternoon. It can be muggy in the mornings too. I would happily stay here again.

I don't stay at Holiday Inn Express too much. I prefer their Staybridge brand because I like having a kitchen. However I recently visited Victoria and couldn't find a suite hotel there, so based on TripAdvisor reviews, I stayed here. What a great decision!

This hotel appears to be very new. The room was good sized. The bathroom was very nicely laid out. I really liked the vanity in the bathroom.

But my number 1 reason for loving this hotel: Tempurpedic beds!! I've always wanted to try one of these, and now I finally had the chance. What a pleasure to sleep on! I wish more hotels had them.

The Internet connectivity was pretty fast here. I did not check out the pool or business center, but if they're as nice as the rooms, they'll be great!

Can't go wrong here!
