“A very nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

We were in Victoria taking care of some business for our home we're purchasing && we always stay at The Quality Inn(when we're in Victoria) until we get our utilities on at our home. I think it's a real nice place. The clerks at the front desk are always so polite. I would rather stay there than in any of the other hotels on Houston Hwy. The rooms are always so clean && the air conditioner works well.

“Terrible part of Town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

My husband to be and I stayed in this hotel on a business trip. The hotel was booked by the company that sent us here. The motel is not in a very good part of town, i discovered this as I was walking back from breakfast and there was a police officer standing outside three doors down from ours, I ask him if we were in an ok part of town and he informed me that this is about as bad as it gets. The whole reason the police officer was present was due to something being stolen from the back of a truck. He told me if you dont lock it up or bolt it down to not look for it to be there when you come back. As far as the rooms they were tiny, the bed is hard, and it is very dated. The air conditioner is really loud you can hardly here the t.v. when it is on. You constantly here trains and sirens. The room smelled bad from the time we walked in, to the point of getting our truck freshner and placing it over the vent, which helped very little. If you can i reccomend "from looks only" staying in the holliday inn or candle wood suits also i noticed that they are all in a better part of town and seem more up to date. One a better note the breakfast was pretty tasty.

“its ok.. but not a place i would ever go back to”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2011

this place is full of oil workers, and they are all very quiet and the hotel is really a place to sleep and keep on travelling. i nearly checked out early. i had a mexican beg for cash from me when i was sitting there in my car at the front entry.. politely told him he was ok and to keep on going, but very unsettling!! its a place with no security and its really not a pretty place at all.

rooms are clean.. air-conditioning is noisy.. breakfast was ok.

i would not return to this style of hotel again, but there was little else available and i had little choice at that time

as i say, its a place to rest and its not a place you would want to hang around during the day at all..

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for taking the time to voice your experience at our hotel on Trip Advisor. I am concerned about some of the comments concerning security and the condition of the property itself.

I wanted to let you know that we actually do have a night time security gaurd. So far we've never come across the need to have security available during the daytime due to the fact we have a variety of hotel staff all over the property all day, including housekeepers, maintenance and construction workers, as well as my self, management. I apologize that you were approached by an individual asking for money. Had we been made aware of this issue we certainly would have addressed it.

We are also in the process of renovations. As you may have noticed during your stay were are adding new storage facilities and repairing different areas of the building's exterior.

The principle goal of our hotel is to provide dependable service to all of our guests. Consequently, it's dissapointing to learn that you were unhappy with your stay.

Please know that we always take all feedback from our guests very seriously. I sincerely hope that in the future you will consider giving us another chance. It is true that our outdoor pool (newly renovated!) is our only form of on-site entertainment, however at the front desk, our staff would have been more than delighted to provide you with a brochure and direct you to a wide array of entertaining places right here in Victoria. From museums and parks to fine dining and night life, Victoria is a city that is rich in culture and if you know where to look, can be very entertaining.

We hope one day we have the opportunity to serve you again and make a better impression!

“very average and overpriced but cleaner than I expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

Stayed in town for a funeral. All of the other hotels were booked due to conventions being in town. I read the reviews and was expecting worse. The room was clean and very average. Normally I would expect a room like this to go for $80 tops but we paid $109 for a double NS room. I checked for bed bugs and noticed the mattress was a new one. New sheets, covers and the carpet looked newer as well. The bathroom ceilling was coming down and the tile was still old. Very little water pressure. The outside of the hotel looks older but I noticed they were renovating the rooms below ours. Breakfast was bagels and danish that had been left out from the day before. It is near a hospital and we heard ambulances and trains through the night. The pool was opena nd it looked clean. We didnt get in. Overall The room did the job and I was grateful it was clean.

Greetings! My name is Nicole and I am the Assistant General Manager of the Quality Inn - Victoria. While I was delighted to see you took the time to share your experience at our hotel, I was dissapointed to read the problems you experienced while staying with us. It is true we are under renovations and I'm happy to see that you noticed! I will be taking your comments and reviewing them with the General Manager. We take the experiences of our guests very serious and want to know how we can improve! I was concerned about the complaint you had about the breakfast only having pastries left from the day before. Our breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 9:00am and on weekends from 7:00am to 10:00am. During this time we serve a full hot breakfast featuring a rotating combination of fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, sausage links, biscuits, gravy, waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit and more. If you visited our breakfast during our posted hours and experienced less than this, I sincerely apologize. Please let me know so this can be addressed immediately with our breakfast staff. We strive to give all of our guests a fantastic experience and I hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
