Days inn, where should I begin. We were planning a different route from Colorado back home to Denton Texas and selected to stay in Vernon, Texas at the Days inn. Terrible, would be the kindest thing that I could say. We had 2 rooms, one had the security lock broken, both were filthiest rooms that we had EVER seen. Sheets so thin you could see through, ALL the chrome had come off the faucets, the tubs and sinks once were white but now a dingy yellow. Mold in both bathrooms. The walls had stains and the carpet looked to have had a "chalk-outline" in one of the rooms and dried food on it in another. Had we not been so tired we would have NOT stayed but driven home. Upon arrival home I called Days Inn customer service dept., less than helpful. One delay tactic after another, finally they told me it takes 10 business days for hotel to respond, then they would send a refund. More that 4 weeks later I called and was told its really longer, the hotel is given an extra 7 business days and all they would send would be "days inn" coupons. Finally after calling the corp office in NJ, I WAS sent a full refund. This hotel is STILL open for business, but I have NO idea why.
